supra2 Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 Just windscreen sealer Snot. Its hard to seal the panel the way Mika suggested as there is gaps in the steel its being riveted to. Unless your keen to weld in filler plate to make a constant surface for the sealer to make contact. I agree, it would look better for a show car but this one is going to take a beating. Quote
Killar_of_giants Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Been following this one since near the beginning. Always eager to see more. Quote
snot35 Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 This thing is coming together very nicely! Quote
supra2 Posted November 1, 2013 Author Report Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks again snot. Inside paint is all but finished. Still have to paint the seat mounts when they are finished. Have to get steering and pedals in place to get final seat position. Quote
supra2 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Report Posted November 3, 2013 Alloy quarter panels in place. Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 So... do you reckon the cage added 50% more weight? this one is going to take a beating. We looked over a gent's immaculate Stanza at yesterday's rally, and he said its done 61rallies in the umpteen years he been driving it! I couldn't believe it, everything was just so neat and clean and straight and tidy and ... like yours and the opposite to ours! Those extinguishers in? I moved one of ours to under the navigator's knees so we can always access at least one, front or rear. Quote
supra2 Posted November 3, 2013 Author Report Posted November 3, 2013 Hi Keith. Yep, the cage would weight more than what has been removed. There is approx 24metres of cage been fitted. Not sure the weight, but the lengths were heavy enough. The Extinguishers are in and grabable "new word"? by both driver and nav while still strapped in the race seats. Who's Stanza was it and which rally did you compete? Quote
supra2 Posted November 4, 2013 Author Report Posted November 4, 2013 Dash vents are in as well as the blanking plate for the hole left by the master cylinder. Also changed the heater hose hole into efi fuel hose holes. Quote
altezzaclub Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 We were down at the BMSC Tumut rally. The Stanza is the Stanford one, the white one here that's number 10- http://action2image.photoshelter.com/gallery/Tumut-Valley-Rally-2013/G00008.T88bQjVS0/ Quote
InSaNiTy Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 Such top workmanship as usual Craig, keep the updates and photos coming! :) Does this driver and nav have inspector gadget arms or something to be able to reach around for those extinguishers? :P I can't even reach my helmet in the net behind the nav seat when I'm strapped in! Quote
supra2 Posted November 7, 2013 Author Report Posted November 7, 2013 Thanks Steve. Everything is moved back in the car. The extinguishers may look like they are hard to reach, but the seats are right back and the hand brake and the gear lever. The pedals are moved back and the steering colume is longer. Heard you had some fun at the last rally. Getting it ready for some paint. Got some underseal/ stone guard on. Quote
kickn5k Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 Looks great!! Please tell me your bringing the celica down, for the alpine classic rally at the end of the month?? It's looking like they have some cool stuff entered already. Quote
supra2 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Report Posted November 8, 2013 Thanks Stuart. No more rally for me this year. Ive blown the budget at the WRC Coffs this year. I would like to run the Celica at the Alpine but I think its a no turbo car event. Its the same problem with the ARC classics. They only allow cars up to group 4 at the moment. It would be great if the classic regs opened up to include Group B as well. The S1 Quattro and 6R4 Metro and 037 Lancer and RS200 and my Celica were all very popular at rally aus this year. Got some paint in the boot. Quote
