Rb30 In Ae71

Hello everyone.

 

I'm on the hunt for a ae71, I have found one in Adelaide however it has a rb30 in it.

 

Does anyone know if the engine mount points on the shell would have been modified to fit the 31 cross member...?

 

Reason for this question is I want to put a 20v 4age in its place.

Depends on how the conversion has been done, it's likely that the engine mounts from the crossmembr have been changed. Be very carefull though as they may have chopped into the transmission tunnel, firewall and other things to make it fit.

I tend to agree with this as well.

 

Sure there are plenty of acceptable arguements for not doing it, but if you are buying it already done, i bet it would be fun to drive.

+ 1 for just keeping it RB if its been done half decent and could be reasonably fixable.

 

even a RB20det. RB30s are junk there power out put is barely better than a 4age.

Keep the 30, put a turbo on it and be happy with over 300hp at the treads with a few other minor mods.

That's on a wet road any car would just about be able to do that, but I understand.
