It's_AUDM_Yo Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) If all goes well pick up the new ride tonight. Its white and its a car but what is it?.. ke70dave Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 How are you allowed to drive a turbo on p plates? and don't the cops immediately pull you over once they see the p plates? looks like a nice car though. Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted January 18, 2013 Author Report Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Was waiting for that. They brought out a law early last year that not many people know about. That moderately powered turbo vehicles can be driven if they are under 125kw/t. You just need to fill out a form and you get the exemption to drive it whenever and where ever. This as standard just scrapes through, now it would be way over the limit but there is now way for them to know that. So my 4age KE70 was deemed to be too fast for me. So I read the rules got something more than twice as fast that is legal. Edited January 18, 2013 by It's_AUDM_Yo Quote

ke70dave Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Thats interesting, i didnt know that. Where is this 125kw/ton measured? or what does transport considered a reliable sorce of info of the cars power output? and weight? my subi is quoted at 1270kg, and its power rating (from wikipedia....) is 160kw (persumably "at the engine") Which doesnt make the cut @ 128kw/ton. It's_AUDM_Yo Posted January 18, 2013 Author Report Posted January 18, 2013 They use Redbook for all there "specs" Hopefully to many people don't find out about this then the dickheads will find out and wreck it. But this section isn't very popular luckily. Quote
ke70dave Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 crazy! So a turbo silvia is legal, yet a 1.6L n/a is not. by redbook my car is 1300kg, so thats 123kw/ton so it passes...just. Quote
