Ke10 Tail Light Restoration.

Hey guys just wondering what your experiences are restoring dull tail lights.

I've read a few different things you can do which is to sand them progressively

smoother and clear coat them or use a tail light dye. Thanks

I have heard of people sanding as you suggested but not sure how well it works.

 

I just trolled Gumtree/Ebay/Rollaclub until new lenses came up... took a couple years.

Thanks guys I've got a few sets of lights here I might experiment on and see what gives me the best result.

NOS brake/reverse lense and about 15 minutes polishing the indicator lense with autosol alluminium polish

and then meguiars hi-tech yellow wax. Lens came up like new.

Yep, I've had good success with autosol as well.

I have seen them done with a red 3m scotch brite pad and then sprayed with a clear coat and they look overrated.

 

I did the ones in my celica with autosol and also worked a treat.

i tried my front lenses the other week, came up alright but nothing like those tail lights, did you just use a cloth and the autosol? thats what i used but got no where near those results. mine are quite cloudy

Yeah just used a cloth but my lenses were pretty good under the surface.
