Jason Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 Hehehe there is a curbside collection on at aspley and surrounding areas at the moment. Any way what stuff have you scabbed from people ;) In the last kerbside collection I scabbed about 10 microwaves fixed them up and sold them for $20 or so each, the transformers out of TV to make high voltage arks for the hell of it also the transformer out of microwaves endless fun. This yeah I manages to score a fully working lawn mower it even had petrol in it :S all I had to do is clean up the spark lead and it starts easier than our new one.... don't know what ill be planning for that yet ;) Quote

Valandor Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 lol once when i was a kid i grabbed this huge stand thing kinda like a home made scaffolding that was about 2 meters high it was great. put a plank going up to the top and tied it to the side of out olympic size trampoline had heaps o fun till folks came home and saw the jaggered edges and crap and made me take it back.. i wasnt happy Quote
Xany Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 "you" found them?..... i found a DVD play that didnt work....still doesnt.....good for parts though ;) Quote
CD_rollaman Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 Last year a Mate got a working 17 inch monitor from the kerbside. About 3 weeks ago while out crusing with him, we found another 17 inch monitor, in perfect working condition. Not only that, it is exactly the same brand as the first one, just 2 yrs older. Previous scavenging expeditions have netted us: a working vacuum cleaner, a golf buggy, two record players, a pair of speakers (still used as my computer speakers), and $13.50 in one and two cent pieces. Dan Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 (edited) I found a working computer in the bin at a worksite once... needless to say I took it. You wouldn't believe how much good pushy parts u can find and sell, let alone all the funny shit you can do with trash and spraycans to make roadside signs ;) Best score was two brand name household speakers(12"sub two tweeters and a 5" speaker in each box) that i got for $4 at a swapmeet... he thought they were blown so I got them for the boxes, tested them, and they are awesome!!!! Can hear them blocks away, and are quality! Edited February 19, 2006 by Dan Quote

Rolla Boy Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Always used to get bikes as a kid... Fixed them all up and sold them... Also, all the good furniture aswell, did the same thing... Quote
Dan Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Ay, you do what I did... at the moment :P Here the poorer people throw out better stuff i've noticed :D Quote
Corolla Test Pilot Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Well, why do you think they're poor? Got shit 4 brains, thats why. A fun game is to put out a whole heap of real good shit, hide in some bushes, and shoot people that come too close with poisoned blowdarts. Have to clear the bodies though, or they stop coming. Quote
Guest Brad Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 HAHAHAHA at Corolla Test Pilot, so random yet funny! Quote
