madKE35coupe Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 hey guys i have a 1981 ke70 cs, and i want took the lights for my gauges up to the lights in the car. just wondering if there is a wire that all ke70's have? or do i need to go through all of them with a test light? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Splice in to the wire to the light behind the heater controls. Quote
rian Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) Here is a diagram of the KE70 headlight wiring: http://www.rollaclub...eadlight_Wiring I'd say it's easiest to go through the wiring under the steering column with a test light. Edit: or do what Reed said, as long as you don't pull too many amps it should be sweet. Edited January 7, 2013 by rian Quote
madKE35coupe Posted January 7, 2013 Author Report Posted January 7, 2013 hmm well played sir, shall do that Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) I spliced into a wire that plugs into the dash cluster that does the dash lights as I know that would never blow the gauges. It was in the middle plug but I can't remember the colour. Edited January 7, 2013 by It's_AUDM_Yo Quote
madKE35coupe Posted January 14, 2013 Author Report Posted January 14, 2013 well when i do finally get around to it i will see which will be easier and give it a go. Quote
Ella Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) and add it to the wiki lol Edited January 14, 2013 by Ella Quote
towe001 Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 I normally run it off the dimmer switch. No ground just start from the dimmer switch to the gauge light and then back to the other wire on the dimmer switch. As i found when i had the ae82. One wire from the dash lights to the gauge to ground - either the gauge light would be full bright or off or the dash lights would be off and gauge full bright (vise verse). If the gauge light works the opposite then swap the gauge wires around. Quote
