finally got my RWC guy around today, he was flat out this week and had no time to make it.

slipped me in between jobs at lunch

he said the brakes are still not 100% but let it through(prob sick of coming around lol) and made me promise to get them sorted asap

dropped her at TyrePower for new 175/50/13's fitted and a wheel alignment too

removing the dash to prepare fitting of the new gauge

ran out of light to do anymore

things to do before i can take her for a good run:

find a 'UNF' thread adaptor to suit the temp sender

give her a better tune

take her for a wash

thanks for your time

haha..!

and an update of sorts

so, after a day or so of driving with the 850, and knowing it still needed some parts, dizzy cap, possibly an SU kit and tune, etc, to get her running smooth

i decided to bite the bullet, and will fit a 1275 and disc brake conversion, after talking to Rodney Hansen at https://plus.google.com/104016398637560906499/about?gl=au&hl=en

he used to run TK's in Toowoomba, who specialized in minis and is a wizard when it comes to these things.

he is looking for the gear for me now

will let you guys know more when i do

/excited

thanks for your time

so, i went 'window shopping' now that the sun was out.

Rodney Hansen introduced me to a guy who Rob and I had inadverdently met a year ago, who turns out to have done his apprenticeship on these things

this was us talking to him, back then

and some disc brakes, brand new from Rodney for approx $1,200 he says

It's good to hear your onto someone that can help with parts. I do know someone that can help if you ever get stuck(I'll chase up a link for you)

A good mate and his dad run a mini/moke spares and repair business in Vic. Has sooooo much cool stuff for them it isn't even funny!! For example it's the only place I've ever seen a KAD twin cam cylinder head!! I think Mick still owns the under 1600 sports sedan lap record at Phillip Island.

They did the resto on my next door neighbors '63 slide window mini, I must say its a work of art!!

Pretty good price on the disk setup too.
