Robbanoka Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Hey there guys. Another bloody kiwi in your country! Haha well i accuired a 3k motor and i am rebuilding it. Not looking for mega mods just a project. I have come to a hault. I need new pistons. Ive looked on the acl site and cannot find anything. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Check with a local engine builder. There's was once rumour on here that you could no longer get 5k d dish pistons.... A quick check on the computer system at my local proved that very wrong quickly. You'll find some easy, they're the same as 4k. Quote
Robbanoka Posted January 5, 2013 Author Report Posted January 5, 2013 Cheers for that. Just a minute ago i was on the club-k forums and i found that repco sells the ACL pistons. Now to see how much they are. Haha Quote
kickn5k Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Cheers for that. Just a minute ago i was on the club-k forums and i found that repco sells the ACL pistons. Now to see how much they are. Haha ACL don't make pistons anymore and haven't for a few years now. Quote
GJM85 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 AutoPro still supplies ACL if there is any available stock, otherwise they'll supply Nason pistons for around 180$. Quote
GJM85 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I'm using them in my 5k. I have experienced no problems. Quote
Robbanoka Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 Ok cool. I might pop in and see them this week. I posted up in the wtb section for secondhand ones but nobody must have any Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 No point putting second hand ones in if you are rebuilding the engine anyway. Quote
philbey Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 ACL might not make pistons, but they'll supply them. Pretty sure my Mahle pistons came through ACL. Otherwise it was probably Precision International. Quote
GJM85 Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) Just had a brain fart. The ACL Team was at Jamboree last year handing out gift bags. They have a new Race Series line out for more modern engines, otherwise their products are branded 'MonoTorque' for the Australian market. Still, I'm not sure if there doing pistons other than the race series. Edited January 7, 2013 by GJM85 Quote
Robbanoka Posted January 7, 2013 Author Report Posted January 7, 2013 Ive heard nason do them but have not yet been able to get in contact yet Quote
benhachi Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 I got a set of 40thou oversized NASON pistons through Cheapa auto spares for $180 but i think they said they were the last set on their system. give them a call though their really helpful. Quote
