corollaart Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) Hi guys in need of a T50 thrust bearing. Can any one tell me if ae thrust bearing are the same or any think that would be the same ??? cheers rob Edited December 29, 2012 by corollaart Quote
rian Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) AE8*/9* (excluding AE86) thrust bearings are different to T50 thrust bearings, they don't use a bearing carrier like the T50 thrust bearing. Left is AE86/AE71 T50 thrust bearing, right is AE8*/9* C5* thrust bearing. Edited December 29, 2012 by rian Quote
ke70dave Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 If you are just after the bearing you can buy them new? They come with clutch kits but I have bought it on its own before. Quote
corollaart Posted December 29, 2012 Author Report Posted December 29, 2012 Thanks rian for some reason i thought they where the same. Dave yes just after the bearing as the rest of the clutch is new ,mix and match k-t set up. I will try repco and see how i go . thanks rob Quote
kickn5k Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 If its any help to you Rob, the bearing part number off my K-T hydro setup is : VKC3501. I'd try and see if you can find a bearing shop that will be open around this time. You'll get a much better quality bearing for way less than you'll find at Repco, Autobarn or Supercheap. Quote
corollaart Posted December 30, 2012 Author Report Posted December 30, 2012 Thanks kickn5k but done quick road trip to coffs harbour picked one up. Now that your give me the part number not sure its the rite one.The one I'm using is nachi 40trk30w258.(out of a ae71) I suspect that the bearing maybe riding on the pressure plate. The measurements are 40mm id 70mm od and 20mm thick.. Have you any measurements of VKC3501??.What brand is this?? Also using ae71 master and slave cylinder. Thanks for all your help rob Quote
kickn5k Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Just measured the bearing. It's pretty much the same as your dimensions. 39.8 ID, 70.2 OD and 20mm thick. The brand is SKF which would give a different part number. I see your using an ae71 slave cyl. That's the only thing missing from my K-T bellhousing. Might have to scoot down the wreckers and size one up so I'm not buying a new one that doesn't fit. Stu. Quote
