Ok. So I'm putting a 4k into an early 1lt sierra (motor blew and 4k came up cheap) now i have a gear box sitting in the shed which i believe is a t50 k-t. Spine is 21t and bell house defiantly bolts up directly to box and motor. Main.question is how good is the gearbox (will it hold up for 4wding). I have all.the parts for the conversion ( jackshaft, engine mounts etc.) also i have been told its a hard to find box combo? If so, just curious as to what money value it is worth.

Thank you in advance.

So you have the K motor, the K-T bellhousing, the T box and the hydraulic setup for the clutch? Should be all you need, you can fabricate the g'box crossmember and sort the driveshaft.

Its better than the K box, and there are no other options really if you're using the K motor.

Go for it then!

If you want to sell the whole thing it must be worth a few hundrd bucks. It puts a T box into a KE, which is something I've thought of and I expect others have too.

The bellhousing is worth a few hundred on its own. The K-T bellhousing especially a cable one isn't the easiest to find.

I'm quite happy to swap you my hydro bell for your cable one! Haha

My K50 came from an old 4k powered sierra. It dealt with it fine with the 4wd setup, so I'd definatly say the T50 being a lot stronger wouldn't have a problem.

To put it into perspective for you it was also the car that my EFI setup and supercharger brackets came from.

What about k-w4/50 and k-w55/6 etc.....which are both stronger options than a t50.

A complete setup with bell housing/fork etc (minus actual box) is worth anywhere from $250 - $400 depending on how many are about at the time....and how much someone wants to pay.

So that means you would use the L-K housing from the liteace truck and use that to adapt to the w50 which is the same pattern as the L commercial boxes?

Correct. Bh is from a km20 liteace, which bolts up with 4 of the w50/40's 6 holes. There's pics in a thread of mine here somewhere - k-w50 in the faq. Cable too.

k-w55 etc uses a kr42r bh which is only available in hydro.
