nerfbat Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Posted December 19, 2012 (edited) this is kyle's old one isnt it? Such a cool little car. Run into some issues on the way home did ya? yeah mate it is. i read right through his build thread on 86 forum before doing the deal, to confirm it wasnt a dodgy conversion. good news is Brad and others from this forum helped with the build for Kyle, and did a nice job of it now, my drive last night was an interesting one, for sure. it was raining and dark when i looked at her, so we pretty much made sure it ran, lights all worked, took her for a short spin. then did the deal now, as I'm leaving his area and heading into Brissie, i sorta felt the clutch getting progressively worse, less pressure etc. until, as i hit all the new bypass area, there was no clutch at all. matching revs to change gear, praying not to stop at all. then somewhere near the ipswich bypass, i noticed a shudder through the car, at random times, over 70km/h, then randomly would disappear so i couldnt stop to look into it, as i would have a hard time taking off, so i babied it all the way home. also noticed the exhaust had a mild leak, but as i got closer to home, it got louder, until, as i hit the top of the range, it sounded like a tractor...lol so i get her home, luckily, have a quick look under the bonnet when i get home, before throwing her in the shed, showering and bed.. the clutch reservoir was empty, so i suspected a leak or something? so after work today, i had a quick look at things before it got to dark missing passenger side engine mount nut(hopefully that is all the shudder was) more to come Edited December 19, 2012 by nerfbat Quote
nerfbat Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Posted December 19, 2012 thermo fan switch is located in the grill and doesnt require the key to be on, so anyone can switch her on at a carpark or W/E and flatten the battery, lol changing that asap Thermo fan Earthing point will fix that asap not bagging previous owners, all the important things are done, and has all the good bits, just needs time put into her love how it has the supercharger Rocker Cover Quote
