We just built a new speedway KE30 with 38mm cage came in at 720 Kg,

We also reshelled a KE55 with a older 42mm cage 780Kg, We cut every bit of metal out that we legally could and only saved about 15kg.:-(

Noting a speedway shell is gutted within a inch of its life, Fibreglass bonnet, boot, guards and side panels that replace the doors.

Also the removel of the floor deading takes heaps of weight out.

Cheers

The first time screwdriver and Hammer, Ouch hard work!

The Second time, went down and brought a air chisel works sweet, even better the buzzing sound pissed the neighbours off.

You apply the dry ice in pellet form over the sound deadener, it causes it to freeze solid & you can tap it off with a hammer/chisel. If you're lucky it'll all shatter off.

My T18 with rear half from front seats back stripped sound deadening with me in the car and 1/2 tank of fuel weighed about 950KG, I don't know what it'll weigh now with 1uz, bigger box, bigger diff, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, but no dash, no heavy steering box anymore no sound deadening at all.
