mark1414 Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Hey, Just had my ke55 weighed at the dump and it came back as 1150kg without anyone inside. Much heavier than I thought but it had a fair bit of fuel in it. Car also has an sr20det, r31 diff, big stereo etc. Curious what other peoples corollas weigh ranging from stock to modified? Although more interested to find out what some modified ones weigh. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Mine is broken and weighs heavy on my mind *sigh* 1 Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 I've narrowed mine down to weighing more than me but less than my house. Was that with or without you in the car? Weight was a tad heavier than I imagined. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 1150kg without anyone inside. In saying that I'd trust a dump weigh bridge as much as a VN Commadore owners for sale ad. Quote
mark1414 Posted December 5, 2012 Author Report Posted December 5, 2012 That was the weight of the car without me in it. I am not sure I trust the dump weigh bridge either but its the only way I could think of to get a semi accurate weight. I used the same bridge to weigh my 1jz Corona and it came up as 1150 as well without me in it. Which is strange that the little Corolla could weigh as much as larger cars. I guess it all adds up. KE70slider Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Ke70 rally car weighed in at 920 with a driver and halfa tank of fuel Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 My 71 with na 20v n t diff weighed 1060 with me in it inc tools spare n fuel. Quote
Trev Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Not my rolla but my 720 KK weighs 1420kgs, I throw that bitch around. Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 bridge is clearly wrong if the corona was the same, from other weights i have seen i doubt it could be that heavy. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 I think most guys who have read the build know what our rally car weighs(ke70), but for who that haven't. It's just under 780kg's wet. Quote
mark1414 Posted December 6, 2012 Author Report Posted December 6, 2012 bridge is clearly wrong if the corona was the same, from other weights i have seen i doubt it could be that heavy. I weighed the Corona years ago. I think that's what it came up as from memory. Also it had the stock diff, stock brakes, stock wheels and no stereo. My Corolla had almost a full tank of fuel. I reckon if I minus off 30kg for that, get a normal or lightweight battery, removed the stereo/boot install and the back seats/carpet etc I could get the weight down to just over 1000kg-1050. But I would never ruin the car for the sake of a few kg! Have you weighed yours out of interest? Quote

carbonboy Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) My AE82 Twin-Cam hatchback with a full tank of fuel but no carpet, back seats or rear interior plastics weighed in at 960kgs. No power steering or air-conditioning gear fitted either. Edit: Just realised this is the KExx section, my bad.... Comparison perhaps? Edited December 6, 2012 by carbonboy Quote
ke70dave Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Corollas weigh a little bit less each day as the rust takes over. Quote
mark1414 Posted December 6, 2012 Author Report Posted December 6, 2012 That's colossal. My Silvia in full trim and a full tank was 1180kg. Yep that's what I was comparing it to as well. Had a few friends with Silvias weighing from 1150-1200ish. I'm amazed. I dunno if I trust that weight now. Quote
