Ae93 Sx Erratic Idle

Hi, I recently purchased an '89 SX hatch with 4AGE motor. The car needs a bit of TLC!! One problem is erratic idle. From cold the idle surges between 1500 and 2500 rpm. before slowing after a few minutes but still surging at lower revs. Any help with likely cause/fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, or your throttle position sensor is not adjusted properly.

mine did the same.thing, turnes out to be low coolant level, the idle hunts because the wax pellat doesnt heat up in the throttle body, i think it has been coveredon here before, so maybe search it up top
