nomis Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) Hey guys I've searched around but can't find the right answer so I'm making this post! I'm lowering my my ke10 soon and wondering what's the best way to go about it I would also like go fit bigger steelies rather than the 12inch stockers so I need a new stud pattern anyway.. roughly about 14" or 15" max. Ill be upgrading springs shocks and blocks too so the question is which setup would be the most efficient and not the most hektic pricey option please hehe So if anyone can recommend a complete package which will give me the new stud pattern plus will be ok to use with new shocks and springs and blocks.. please let me know! Thanks Edited November 30, 2012 by nomis Quote
mattress Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 You don't need to change stud pattern to fit bigger steelies... Quote
nomis Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 Well to fit the ones i would like i would have to unless i re drill them which looks like a really dodgy way of doing things or get a hub which is highly illegal.. and probably too dangerous.. Any other suggestions though? Quote
mattress Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 I guess it depends on what sort of steelies you want. There are a few people here who have had rims professionally redrilled with no problems. Quote
nomis Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 Well firstly the steelies i like arent 4x110.. so that only leaves the options mentioned.. I don't mind re drilling.. though i've seen a few shockers re drilled.. Also a big point is.. if i use the steelies, the existing stud pattern which would be left over would kind of ruin the wheel. I heard you can weld up existing holes but it will probably look crap and cost more than i would like. So yeah.. doesn't help much on my situation.. Quote
nomis Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) *sigh* i needed this.. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/22368-14-stockies-4x110-to-suit-ke1x-ke2x/ Edited November 30, 2012 by nomis Quote
mattress Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) Perhaps you should have been more specific initially. These steelies are similar and come in 4 x 110. http://www.ausrotary...p?f=48&t=202212 Edited November 30, 2012 by mattress Quote
nomis Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) They are very hard to find.. and only come in sets of two which sucks.. And they don't look as good as some of the other steelies available.. :P So it looks like i either re drill.. or find a way to change the stud pattern.. Edited November 30, 2012 by nomis Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) You can fit later model hubs and axles in to change the pattern. There are a few write ups about it but I'm on my phone so I CBF finding them sorry. Supposedly KE30 rear axles fit in but are a bees dick too long so you need to shorten them. The front would be easier to fit in whole new struts and brakes (Ke30 or newer) I'm running KE20 struts in mine, from what I've read its not too hard to swap to KE70 rotors and hubs. Edit: this is assuming you want 114.3 PCD? Edited November 30, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
parrot Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Front is easy to change, the rear isn't. It's all on here, and has been discussed at length only recently. You need to spend a bit of time searching. Quote
nomis Posted December 1, 2012 Author Report Posted December 1, 2012 Hey guys, Thanks for the replies.. Sorry about posting another thread about this topic.. I did search i just wanted to start a thread to be more specific about my dilemma.. Sounds like the swap is a bit of a pain in the ass.. Maybe re drill is the best option still.. especially if i ever want to put the original stockers back onto it. Yes 114.3 would be the PCD I'm looking for.. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 I'm running 13" Mazda stockies. Same PCD. Quote
camorinta Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 the ke70 hubs are easy to chuck on.. but I'm more interested in the rears.. has anyone actually done that ke30 changeover? haha if i just needa shorten them then i \would that way and then i have two options.. running 110 and 114.3 :) Semi off topic my bad.. philbey Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 I have a set of 13 inch steel rims that would fit. See my rides thread below. You in Adelaide? Quote
nomis Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 Not exactly what i was after philbey! aiming for 14" Thanks anyway.. Anyone have any recommendations where to re drill in sydney? Quote
