FOOMAN Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 Hey all, just wondering if anyone knows if the toyota 1Y 1.6l engine and the 3Y 2l engine are interchangable, as in drop in and bolt up (like a 3k and 4k). As I've got a 86 hilux which is slow as balls and the engines getting old, so I figured if I could get a 3Y and bolt it up to all the gear then I'd be good to go. Can't find any info on the net so figured I'd ask around on the toyota forums ;) Yes I know the 3Y will be slow too, but atleast it will be able to get around the hills a bit better haha.
