kickn5k Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) Ah you beat me to it. Those rb25 boxes are massive. I've got a fair bit of clearance around the FJ box in the 1600 but with a mates 1600 with FJ and same fit kit had to do a massive fabricated tunnel to get even a tight clearance. flawless-paint Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) howd u get the old one out but not get the new one in old one came in the car but with this cut out of it .....if my theory dosent work tomorrow with the jack then i shall try cut a piece out of the motor Edited October 29, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
flawless-paint Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) How much clearance do you have around the box? I read you have a 25 box. They are big even comparing to a VLT box. theres plenty of clearance around the box ....and is defeinatly a lot bigger .its got a bigger tunnel been replaced before i got the car ....but its just getting it over the crossmember ...is being a bit annoying with one person doing it Edited October 29, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote

oh what a nissan feeling! Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 You will have to cut that section out of the sump to clear the steering, its not a big deal and definately beats making a custom draglink. Â I had to drop the crossmember to fit the motor in, but from memory i think the steering can be left bolted up, or mostly bolted up, once the motor is in everything will bolt back in place. Quote
flawless-paint Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) yea thort so .... should be done by tomorrow.... hopefully no more headaches after this one Edited October 29, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
flawless-paint Posted October 30, 2012 Author Report Posted October 30, 2012 (edited) motors in bolted to the crossmember ... had to release steering, crossmember and brake mc... all thats left to do is bolt the crossmember up to the chassis. will have to wait till tomorrow... gearbox is a reallllly tight fit ...and took all arvo to get it manoeuvred in... shifter hole will be moved and welded on the weekend Edited October 30, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
