timj Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Ok, but does the lenght seem to be ok? I'm wanting to fit some coilovers to my KE30, don't know if their the same as the KE20 though... Quote

I'm sure ul be able to find something Edited October 25, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
flawless-paint Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 massive hole in the engine bay under battery tray gotta weld it up this weekend..... Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Great progress already, looking forward to seeing this come together. Â Your gearbox appears to be an earlier L series box with an sr20 bellhousing, not really capable of handling any decent power. Quote
flawless-paint Posted October 27, 2012 Author Report Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) cheers its an r31 box with an sr20 bell housing ... yea i know its a pretty shitty box tho ... reverse is gone gearbox will need a rebuild... my new motor has got an rb25 gearbox with straight cut gears :) Edited October 27, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote

flawless-paint Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 paint striper and wire wheel .... was quite easy compared to some of the cars I've done Quote
flawless-paint Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) wilwoods came today :) Edited October 28, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) wow, this is going to be a quick build, paint looks great. Â So the motor/ box being built atm, or ready to go? Â Just remembered looking at your pics, should have flattened that circular lump behind the engine, it pushes the motor forward a fair bit, would have been worthwhile. flawless-paint Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) no go today... can see what u mean about the circular lump :( the motor won't get over the steering rack / crossmember.... going to try get a bigger jack tomorrow and slowly roll the gearbox and motor back at the same time over it so it goes in straight..... or..... anyone else got a better idea?????????? don't really want to have to unbolt the whole front suspension / cross member and try slot the car onto the motor and gearbox.... ill have to grind a new hole for the shifter and weld up the old one aswell heres how it sits till tomorrow Edited October 29, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
