flawless-paint Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 got a rough quote today to get some will 4spot wood callipers $780 to mount them $450 2rotors $440 stud pattern redrill $180 brake pads $180 braided brake lines $260 wheel bearing $55 all put in the ke20 has anyone got a similar setup on the ke corolla ke20 ke55 watever .... most of it is custom made anyway..... if so can u let me know how much it costs.... cheers Quote
Jono.C Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 To me braided lines are kinda pointless.. How big do you want to go? Is there a size wheel you want to be able fit? What's your desired stud pattern? What engine are you intending to pull up? Quote
rian Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) Shit that's expensive. I wouldn't pay that. The Wilwood kit for AE86s is only about $1000, that price list you put up there is like $2300. Edited September 29, 2012 by rian Quote
flawless-paint Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 The ke20 will be getting a 500hp sr20det and rb25 box and needs to be fully engineer able . Which it is except for the damn brakes :( .... Is the ae86 willwood brake kit able tO fit the ke20 or can be easily modified . Or a kit made for a ke20 (doubt it but worth a shot asking) .....a lot of money is going into this ke20 so I don't want cheap shit . The stuff I listed is all custom made to suit xt130 struts and ke20 . But 2300 worth of brakes Jesus Quote
flawless-paint Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 Rian what would u pay ? And where would u get it ? And what would u get . God damn ke20 fits shit on a stick n I'm stumped what else to do other than get the custom willwood kit I got quoted for . I no all the different brake conversions like peugeot disc Hilux calipers n s4 modified to fit brakes but they jus dot cut it ay Quote
Jono.C Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 By that standard put ae86 struts in the ke20 and buy the ae86 kit and save $1k Quote
flawless-paint Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 By that standard put ae86 struts in the ke20 and buy the ae86 kit and save $1k Ae86 struts don't fit into a ke20 tho ???? Quote
Jono.C Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Yeah they do. Give positive camber though. You just need ae86 steering arms, technotoytuning balljoint adaptors and put some te27 camber tops on them Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) Someones ripping you off. $180 is way too much to drill 4 holes. A pair of wilwoods generally runs under $400. All the prices listed are the top top top of the market. Youd be a fool to buy this. Edited September 29, 2012 by LittleRedSpirit Quote
19914afc Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Just go on yahoo japan or us sites or NZ and look for TE27 steering arms, allows you to run ae86 coilovers therefore any brake kits that fit ae86. I think hopper stoppers kit could probably make one up for you for about the same price as normal if you ask them to do one for your car. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Yeah most people who splash too much money on a big brake kit ultimately realise they should have started with different struts to begin with to widen their shock absorber choices. Be careful and choose something which leaves your options open. Quote
flawless-paint Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) so just want to double check 100 % before i buy so these te27 camber tops bolt straight onto ae86 coilovers.... https://technotoytun...n-camber-plates $190 may swell get a strut brace... https://technotoytun...ce-te27-corolla $120 and these coil overs $1149.............. http://www.ebay.com....c#ht_4346wt_306 and these steering knuckles (the power steering arms 85mm) $130 (because i can't find any te27 ones) https://technotoytun...r-strut-casings and these adaptor bushes $45 https://technotoytun...gs-kp61-starlet can't forget the ae86 wilwoods .... 280mm slotted discs 4piston callipers and fit inside 15" wheels $825 https://technotoytun...it-ae86-corolla this is all i need to do the ae86 coil over conversion into the ke20 1310 for brakes n other shit + bc coilovers 1150 = 2460 Edited September 30, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
flawless-paint Posted September 29, 2012 Author Report Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) i can't find technotoytuning balljoint adaptors ?? is there a link? Edited September 29, 2012 by flawless-paint Quote
Jono.C Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 BC coilovers are avaliable in a pair from places for about 800. Look under KP61 for the balljoint adaptors, I can vouch that they're the same as ke20 Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted September 29, 2012 Report Posted September 29, 2012 Buy the coilovers with the stub axles on them, its much easier than ʞ©$ɟing around welding stubs on. I think the te27 steering arm is mandatory, the ae86 type, while they work with the strut, may well want the tie rod end to interact with the steering arm at a different angle, unless the angle here was the same Id steer clear and wait for some te27 arms.
