glenpos Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 paint thinner would get it off, dunno how safe it would be though Quote
Chobis Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Dude those hubcaps are 100% awesome! Good work by your dad. This car is right up my alley. Quote
JimL Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 try the safest and easiest method first, hot soapy water and a bit of a scrub with a soft sponge. then rinse in fresh water and dry. Quote
Mark90 Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 Thanks guys, I think I'll try soapy water just to play it safe :) I went on Jafs end of year cruise on Saturday, it's pretty much SA's largest cruise held once a year. A photographer got this awesome picture of my car! :) Quote
Chobis Posted January 1, 2013 Report Posted January 1, 2013 Spewing I missed that cruise, but can't complain too much cos I'm in Fiji with a beautiful girl. Not a bad photo of your car there. Quote
Mark90 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Report Posted January 1, 2013 Thanks man. Yeah it was a great night, well over 500 cars again and everyone was pretty well behaved. Managed to find this one today too. I dunno why but it looks sick with the lights on haha - ignore my angry face. Quote
mdw003 Posted January 1, 2013 Report Posted January 1, 2013 Looks great mate, I wish I lived closer to adelaide, Id be in as many cruises as I could get to. But a 4 hour drive would kill the rolla :P I'm going to try to get there for the AJD in march Quote
Mark90 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Report Posted January 4, 2013 Hey guys, I got my new NOS hubcaps all cleaned up and ready to go on. They look great! Having a tough time trying to decide if I should sell my old ones. Would love to help out a fellow Rollaclubber, but I'm a bit of a hoarder and they are so good still!. Here is a photo of my old ones (on the right) next to the new ones. The old ones are near perfect, just need the black in the center re-done and they could pass as brand new haha Anyway... I can't wait to get the new ones on. It's 44 degrees at the moment so I might venture outside later on :) Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 *drools all over keyboard* Damn they look good! Quote
Chobis Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 In my experience, it's always good to hold on to a good condition spare set of caps. Hoard away! Quote
Mark90 Posted February 3, 2013 Author Report Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) Not much is happening... At all. Picked up a new front windscreen seal from rare spares, the dudes there were pretty great. Everything's slowed down a bit now so I'm just keeping her clean and cruising. Broke my land speed record in her last night cruising. 75MPH was epic with a 4 speed haha. Keen on a k50 but dunno if it'll bolt up with the 12R, not much info around for them! Edited February 3, 2013 by Mark90 Quote
glenpos Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 yeah they are scary at 75 haha, the 12r engines have like a built in bell housing, they are retarded, sort of like a grey fergy motor i think so dunno what box fits them... Quote
SimonM Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Another beautiful 'rona! I'm bringing mine home tomorrow hopefully. Still haven't decided what I want to do with her, but some of the threads on here are really making me want to get her back on the road. Any ideas on where to get a running 2R or 12R in SA? I found a guy on toyota owners club who is willing to give me a 2R if I pay freight from Sydney, but that's probably not worth it Quote
SimonM Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Also, Mark, I love the venetians in the back! :) Full grandpa spec ;) Quote
