ke70-dori Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Picked up a rt142 wagon. Herd abit about advancing the timing and running it on 98. Wondering if anyone on here knows anything about it, what to set the timing at Quote
Mark90 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 I did mine by ear back when I had a 142.. Sketchy but it actually made a bit of a difference. Just turn the dizzy a little bit, go for a drive - see how it goes. Mark it on the edge with a texts or something so you know where to put it back to if you go way off. Quote
ke70dave Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Find a decent sized hill, and drive up it in a higher gear than you normally would and keep advancing the timing untill it pings, then back it off a bit. Don't expect a monumental difference, but every bit counts! Quote

Also took all the EGR off cos I was bored, don't think it made any difference apart from tidying things up haha. Quote
