Hi,

I have a some questions about a 4a supercharger I have been offered one for $200 and i want to fit it to a 1978 dual carby celica, I have never fitted a supercharger before but I have done a turbo or two.

Q1. Do oil or water lines have to be run to the 4a supercharger?

( I Have seen some easton chargers before and all you have to do is attached the

charger to aircon bracket and run a pipe from the underside of the charger to the carby

and another to a filter, is this the same with the 4a type)

Q2 I want to keep the dual carby setup, has this been done before?

(sound different so why not do it.)

Q3 what RPM do the 4a chargers run at? I know this would be directly related to engine RPM.

thanks in advance.

the s/c has its own internal oil supply.

they do how ever use air and air valves to control the pressure in the bearings so the grease doesnt get pushed out.

carbs can be tricky with forced induction, but by no means impossilbe. you need to get some suitable for a blow through setup

as for revs you don't want to run a crank pully any bigger than about 170mm.

that should give you around 12psi, but research that a bit more as i could be wrong. and 12 is about the max you can run them at

I think you would be better off to use the 1GGZE charger.

I got mine for $250

Did you have any ignition problems when you bolted the blower on?

I am currently bolting one of these on an engine and I'm a little worried about the timing setup...

Did you just retard yours?

Cheers
