Dermo Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Hi guys I'm hoping all of you can help me out here. I have finished restoration of my 79 3dr Ke30 Corolla and have got my hands on two new 'Corolla' & 'Deluxe' emblems for the fenders. I've finished this car to show standard and have so far done everything so the car is as near to when it left the factory in 79 My problem is I'm not sure where to position the 'Corolla' & 'Deluxe' emblems on the fenders. I cannot find the holes as they are all filled with paint and primer. So I need to know how far in from the fenders edge I need to start, then what gap is supposed to be between the two emblems and what height on the fender they should be positioned. Then on the LHS it is the reverse so I need to know the position here also. I understand any car with original fenders would have had the holes done at the factory so would be accurate. Any car that has had panels and paint may not have th eproper position. I know this may sound very very trivial to some but I'm a fanatic about this car and want it 'as new' Thanks guys. D Quote
asirike20 Posted September 6, 2012 Report Posted September 6, 2012 try to seek inside the fender and you'll find the holes.... if not..... just use a sandpaper in the guessing area... sorry if this is an idiot answer... :scarymovie: Quote
Dermo Posted September 14, 2012 Author Report Posted September 14, 2012 No too much paint and wax. There must be a real set of dimensions somewhere from Toyota?? Anyone Quote
Dermo Posted November 10, 2012 Author Report Posted November 10, 2012 Any update from anybody. Even the gap between the Corolla Emblem and Deluxe emblem would help alot! Please, anybody?? Quote
bruce Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 I'm not sure if the KE3X that came into Australia had the option as a deluxe, or it's not very common. Though I did see an early KE35 with honey comb grill with a deluxe badge on the passenger side front guard once. Usually there is the 'corolla' badge there. With the later KE30/KE35 there is the 'CS' badge, that could be in the same position as the deluxe badge. Usually the deluxe was an option in Japan or USA; could check out the TE31/TE37. There is also the KE35 SR that has the 'SR' badge on the front guard, which is more common in New Zealand and some Asian countries. Quote
BO55KE Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 I've only ever seen the "Corolla" with the SE or CS badging under it. Quote
