e.NSNARE Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Hey guy's ! so it has come time were i must choose a diff ive done quite a bit of reading but still have some questions so here it goes.......... The Hilux diff sounds like it's almost going to be bullet proof but witch hilux should i use and what kind of lsd centres do they make for them are they any good ? - this would be my most preferd choice if they make a nice lsd...... Hoookay so the s/t series sounds like the best match so far couse its still toyota ! but iam still unsure about the lsd's they seem to have reall nice ones - iam thinking this one is most comfy and the r31/vl tu-bro diff well every one seems to speak highly of them but that would be like having a Asian baby with African legs now we all don't want to see that do we lol. - but still seems quite a good choice :\ IAM STUCK GUYS ARRRRR !!! :@ any info on reliability and what not would be more then welcome i would like to learn as much as possible about all of these diff's so i can make the best choices for my lil girl (hope she grows up nice and strong) cheers guys and looking forward to your posts Quote
Willis Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 Why do you need a Hilux or an R31 diff? A T series or an S series should be able to cope with the GZE and would be much easier and cheaper. There are no LSD options for an S series. There are LSD's available for T series. Quote
e.NSNARE Posted August 22, 2012 Author Report Posted August 22, 2012 Thanks man that's heaps handy to know I thought it would have been the other way around. Quote
Willis Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 You can get lokkas for S series. And there's nothing wrong with lockers. Cheap, do the job. Can't go wrong ;) Quote
e.NSNARE Posted August 23, 2012 Author Report Posted August 23, 2012 Nah lockers anoy the shit out of me. The t series is sounding like the way to go so far sounds reliable with a lot of options. I was thinking the hilux couse it just sounds strong come on its hilux lol Quote
19914afc Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 No I mean lockright mechanical locker diff like people use 4x4's, not a welded diff. Quote
cuzzo Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 Get a commodore diff re-drilled, Billet axels, KAAZ lsd, internal handbrake. Bout 3.5K Quote
e.NSNARE Posted August 24, 2012 Author Report Posted August 24, 2012 Woooow 3.5k iam thinking the t series is sounding real good thanks for all your input guys it gave me.some thing to stew over Quote
iwontarolla Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 how much abuse can a t series take though? Quote
Willis Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Should handle a GZE. They deal with GTE's pretty well. Knew of one making about 150rwkw and it was just snapping axles. Edited August 29, 2012 by Willis Quote
iwontarolla Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 might not be strong enough for my needs then. Quote
corollaart Posted August 29, 2012 Report Posted August 29, 2012 Hilux are heavy but strong (set and forget)lots of ratios ,widths etc. The hot rodders are starting to use hilux diffs as well, with a lot more hp than a 4a. Tseries are getting old ,and only suit old farts driving style, like me slow. Do it once rob Quote
