Guy's

another question, will the 7K fit in a KE10 due to the extra depth of the sump for the extra stroke and are there any other issues .

ive got another KE10 auto that i might do something with.

i know of a guy who put one in his ke17. from what i remember him telling me, he had to cut and shut the sump to clear the xmember. apparently the sump is wider than a normal 5k sump, which makes sense to accomodate the extra stroke. apart from that it was just a bolt in.

i never went for a run in it, but a friend did.... effortless power.

Torque on tap.

Good to see some people looking into the 7K's...

Plenty of potential

Yeah i measured one up a while back and figured i would have to cut something, wonder how they would rev with the extra stroke over the 5K.

mate of mine has a 7k in a ke20, it uses the same engine mounts as a 5k

he runs and owns his very own Japanese modification place and he did it himself, so he knows what he's talking about :P

he didnt have any problems swaping the engines over, but this was a ke20, not a ke10, if that even matters

people say that 7ks wont rev. Yes, from stock, they are not a very rev'y motor. But with some modifications, i would put a nice chunk of money on there potential.

Up the torque :P

Yeah its the whole "undersquare" thing that makes them not rev too good.

I will look into it and see what the deal is,does anybody know if the cams are the same, manifold bolt pattern, bellhousing bolt pattern?????????

heard the same thing about the 5k's when they came out, that it wasn't a rev,ing engine.

seen many a 5k hit 8000+rpm no problem.

i'd expect a 7k with a change of cam, solid lifters, head work, decent carbs, etc to see 8000rpm.

reliability shouldn't be a problem, as they are a commercial engine and there toyota.

You have to change the sump a 3k one fits

you just have to modify the oil pick up.

Due to stud patterns only a 7k head will

fit the block. All kmotors fit k bell housings.

7K starter motor is smaller in the body

We will know just how a 7k revs in a couple

of weeks. We need a 7k manifold gasket.

Got laughed at when i rang around a 7what

they all said.

Why would you want to over rev a 7k

Max tourque is about 4250

Max horsepower low 6000
