Killcam Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 Hi guys, I'm pretty hopeless with with sizes of wheels and everything that goes with it, so I guess I just need advice on exactly what size / width etc of wheel would be best suited for my KE70. Does anyone here have experience with putting these on a KE70, and could advise exactly which width I would need to go with, and also any other work that would be needed. Cheers in advance! Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) exactly what width you go will depend on how much work you want to/are will to do to your guards, which will depend on your level of skill with these kind of things. ROTA grids are 15x8 zero offset so you will need to lip your guards at the very least and run a bit of stretch. Depends how low you want to go. Edited August 15, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 And if you want your car Roady worthy. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 read through this and remember the grids are 15 x 8 zero offset http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/57216-ke70-wheel-thread/ Quote
Killcam Posted August 15, 2012 Author Report Posted August 15, 2012 I was looking at getting springs that would lower it 30mm. It's the zero offset side of things that I don't understand, but I can google that :P Thanks so much for the info, I'll do some reading and see how I go. I know exactly how I want it to look, because I have photos to go by, but getting it to that point is beyond me. Thanks again @ B.L.Z.BUB! Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) check out this link its a good pictorial of how offset works http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11405&stc=1&d=1206194833 Edited August 15, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
Killcam Posted August 15, 2012 Author Report Posted August 15, 2012 Ah excellent, that makes a lot of sense. Well the wheels I'm looking at are on eBay and the description is as follows: Rota GRID Classic (V) 15x8, 4x114.3, +0. I can only assume that they'd fit okay, even after I've lowered my car by 30mm or so. If you know of any better / cheaper places to get these particular wheels from, feel free to let me know! But I thought brand new for $750 + $99 postage was pretty reasonable. Quote
Paul Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 Show us a photo of how you want the car to look. 15x8 0 offset will require guard work. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 Check this thread http://www.jdmbits.com/2011/02/rota-grid-v-some-more-pics-fitted.html Quote
Killcam Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Posted August 16, 2012 This is exactly how I want the wheels to look, as I said, I don't know how much they've lowered this particular one, and I don't know what size those wheels are, but I'm prepared to roll the guards if need be! Quote
Killcam Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Posted August 16, 2012 @ B.L.Z.BUB Looking at the car on that thread, I think the wheels on the 70 I posted might be bigger than 15x8. Although it doesn't look like the white 70 has had very much guard work done, which would be ideal, because I'd rather not attach flares to the guards. Both cars look excellent though! :P Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) They only come in 15 x 8 zero as far as I know. Either way you will need to get a hammer onto your guards. Edited August 16, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
Jono.C Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) 15x7 http://www.racinglab.com/rota-grid-v-002.html Edited August 16, 2012 by Jono.C Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) i stand corrected, just get those ^ EDIT those are Grid V's but essentially the same, probably pushed more towards the FWD market. Edited August 16, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
