RXStephen, check your PM messages. You won 100,000th post on Rollaclub tonight

shit! he did too!

i didnt even know it was on the cards

what happened to the 3000 post spam fest we usually enjoy?

don't tell me i missed it *tears wells in eyes*

so a 5k it is aye?

you gonna bother with the forced induction or you stickin n/a for insurance sake?

forced is probably cheaper power than cam and head work, but a worked k motor is just awesome :D

a 5k isn't really a conversion. more just a simple engine change.

i would just do a conversion to something newer like a 4age in a ke30. heaps more potential later on when you are ready for more power.

hmmmm i was thinking along the lines of n/a tuning, put in the extra money and make that rolla fly :D. yeah ill leave a 4age engine for later on, prob on a different car, but for now a worked 5k will do nicely.

Cheers

lolll stickers r cool I'm his cousin and we are both working out what the furtures hold with our corollas lol I'm putting a 4age into my brothers ke70 atm so i will have a spare 4k to work on, i will build it as tough as i can before forcing it and then see how i go woot carbss

5K is a nice engine change from any dead stock 3k or 4k...they have the extra torque and a little more power....

Power wise, with a nice cam, extractors, head work and different induction.....you'd be looking at around 70 - 80 maybe 90hp ATW.....

I am currently undertaking the task of supercharging my Hot 5K, i'll let you know how we go when we have it all done :P

hey guys. ive gone on a bit of a tangent to my inital thoughts but now I'm putting a 12a rotary in my ke30. I bought an series 1 rx7 for 1K and am putting that motor in my ke30. I know a bloke that has all the engine mounts and cross members that are needed for the conversion. Also i was thinking if i can put the following rx7 parts into my ke30

-gearbox?

-clutch?

-diff?

-Struts?

My mate is also selling his ta22 struts to me. Will these brakes be strong enough to cope with the 12a motor, or should i look for other stronger means?

thanks

You will more than likely have to use the rotor gearbox and clutch.

The rest will be mod jobs to fit.

And I just have to say...EWWWW rotaries :jamie:

*waits for verbal bashing from avid fans*

ta22 brakes are solid 228mm, with thickness of 10mm min 9mm

ke30 brakes are solid 218mm, thickness 10mm to 9mm for imported brakes, local brakes are 12.7 max 11.5 min.

rx7 series 1 brakes are vented 228mm, 18mm, 17mm...maybe if you could upgrade those series one brakes to series 3 brakes which are 250mm. but any of the options you provided were nothing to get excited about.

Well finally i have snapped out of putting the rotary into my ke30. The amount of negative feedback i was getting and stories of rotaries have put me off rotarys for life :D So I'm back on track to my original plan, putting a 5k into my ke30. Now that i have started uni, money has been very limited so i havent been able to do much. i bought two monza racing seats for 300 buks, great condition, but only have to bolt the seatbelts to the chassis, because the seatbolts were originaly bolted to the seat. I bought a rear bumper also in great condition, no bumps or rust, however it is sticking out abit on the side due to a my dented panel (from the previous owner). I got a pair of ta22 struts with monro shocks and king springs which i tried to put in, however, the ta22 struts are too small to fit onto the control arm. From this dilema, i desperatly tried to find a control arm that fits to the struts. i recently found that sigma control arms can be used, so I'm searching for these atm.
