maccat01 Posted April 8, 2015 Author Report Posted April 8, 2015 Pics I promised of daily driver earlier. New front mounted transmission cooler has been fitted, the interior plastics have been sprayed, rust has all been repaired and brand new headligjts have been fitted. I know the pics posted of the guard repairs are from different side guards but they were both rusted out so i did the same repair on both sides. Quote
maccat01 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) New superlights and coilovers test fitted on the daily driver. They are 14x8 -4 offset superlites. maccat01 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 And for the sake of being different, ke20 cowl vents are being welded to where the ke30 flat vents were, as i am sick of a possum shitting in my cowl panel and being unable to throughly wash it out. 2 inch flares will be welded to the car front and back to cover the epic offset. Sorry the project has been sooo slow but ive had other things on my plate Quote
maccat01 Posted July 6, 2015 Author Report Posted July 6, 2015 Hello all. now have a new toy to play with. an eaton m90 supercharger is now being fitted to the f20c and will be running 5 or 6 psi. Not hoping for that much more power, just more of a mid range kick as honda engines arent known for having any torque. The intake manifold is being chopped up to remove the redundant secondary air valve, and the exhaust ports for the same system are being tapped and grub screws inserted as they are useless without the air valve. maccat01 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Report Posted August 29, 2015 Hello all. New hankook rs3 225s are on my wheels. Engine has been fully rebuilt, down to every single bolt. It has been painted and most parts to be polished are 90% done. New exedy hd clutch is purchased. Manifold is currently being cut up to fit the supercharger and is having a water to air intercooler installed inside the new plenum. Have also removed all evap system and secondary air valve system and have managed to remove about 15kg of defunct polution gear. Tapped and screwed grub screws into the exhaust ports for the air valve as its no longer in place. Supercharger weighs about 15kg so I have added what i took away. Am aiming to run 6-8 psi so should see 350-400rwhp. Will post again when i have finished the custom intake. Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 29, 2015 Report Posted August 29, 2015 Damm, this thing will go! I wonder if you could run a rev-limited clutch on the SC so it disconnected at 5000 and let the motor become NA at the top of the rev range. Will the SC survive at the sort of revs the motor will pull high up?? Quote
maccat01 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Report Posted September 3, 2015 I have done the calculations and to have 7-8 psi the charger will be spinning at 9700 rpm when the engine is at redline (9200). The m90 max rpms is 12000 so I will be well below the superchargers maximum speed. The roots style charger is a very efficent air heater approaching its max rpm so this is why I cannot run more boost as even with a a2w intercooler the intake temp will be quite high. I have negated the need to run a clutch on the charger by using a bypass valve off a mini cooper s ( the little throttle looking thing). This is operated from intake vacuum and at anything other then full throttle the valve is open so at least half of the intake air misses the supercharger meaning better economy and less stress on the engine. Just need to get the cardboard mock up intake fabricated. Hopefully wont be too exxy as the standard intake runners are being used cut down by about 3 inches. The buggest problem with my setup at this stage is finding a decent throttle body. The stock throttle body is a bit small but its hard finding a decent throttle body for a good price..... Skunk2 are almost $800 in Sydney and the ebay ones are of questionable quality. Quote
maccat01 Posted September 4, 2015 Author Report Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Sitting my new wheels next to the daily. They are double the width. Should grip well 🙂 Edited March 24, 2019 by maccat01 Quote
maccat01 Posted September 8, 2015 Author Report Posted September 8, 2015 So my missus decided we should buy a caravan. I have convinced her to let me style the outside and she can decide on interior finishes. So its going to look like the modified corolla so it will match for summernats :-) This may be the only caravan to have ever been fitted with Yokohama advans :-/ Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 love your work mate, any pics with the ke20 cowl vents? interested to see Because I recon they are pretty cool. Quote

maccat01 Posted February 19, 2016 Author Report Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) Hello all. Long time no post. Have recently moved house and had a baby boy so the car is on the backburner. Will start building again shortly. The blow is sitting next to engine to work out its positioning on the intake manifold. I am now searching for a 1.8L honda FD civic power steering pulley as that is the perfect size to spin the S/C up to 8.5 psi ( not counting loss throught the intercooler) The wheels clear the strut by a small amount, so I'm very happy ATM. New Exedy HD clutch and bearings installed. Have reinstalled gearbox and put on a new Slave cylinder. Laters Dave Edited March 24, 2019 by maccat01 Quote
maccat01 Posted April 14, 2016 Author Report Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) Hello all. Have made some engine progress. Car still away. Will be getting it back shortly as am tired of waiting for work to be done. Engine back together and some bits have been polished. Manifold is cut apart ready for welding. A 12x 5 x 2.5 inch liquid aftercooler is being installed inside the manifold to keep the intake air temp down. Have worked out supercharger calculations and have had a Honda civic power steering pump pulley modified to get the psi of boost I require, which is 9 psi BTW. Am hoping for 400rwhp.. But will see what happens Edited April 14, 2016 by maccat01 Quote
rolap7 Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Great build! I'm also planning on boosting :rocknroll: :rocknroll: :rocknroll: Quote
