maccat01 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Report Posted February 17, 2014 And what may be the biggest front brake rotors a corolla has ever seen. Only 270mm diameter but they are an inch wide!!!! Quote
aspheric Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 Woah, thems some anchors. What are the rotors out of? Quote
maccat01 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Report Posted February 17, 2014 They off a 2005 ford transit van... who would have though that race rotors were made for transits!! Haha They rears are 291mm off a supra but they only half ad wide Quote
maccat01 Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 My mk1 golf chin spoiler needs a bit of a trim. But will look good. Ive decided to put the front indicators in the grill so purchased these little 3 LED waterproof clearance lights. My front parker will be an angel eye in my headlights and I will be putting a rectangle fog light into the space in the front bumper where the indicator and parker used to be Quote
maccat01 Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 Engine mounts and crossmember came out amazing. Quote
Robski Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Looking great Dave. Can't wait to see what this bad boy is going to look like when finished, always a fan of your work. Quote
maccat01 Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 Cheers rob. Some more progress as ive been at home for last few weeks after having surgery. Sub box in wheel well and with floor installed. Strut cut down ready to be sent to shockworks for coilovers. engine crossmember and mount installed. Ke30 chassis rails warped while sitting on jack stands so had to pull it back together with steel rope and winch. Quote
maccat01 Posted February 22, 2014 Author Report Posted February 22, 2014 Hopefully tomorrow I can redo gearbox mount as I made it too short before as engine was sitting further forward. Ill also try to get trans tunnel cut down and installed and if there is time fab up some seat mounts to mount the recaros :-) Quote
maccat01 Posted February 23, 2014 Author Report Posted February 23, 2014 Mitsubishi evo8 seat trimmed to fit corolla. Back cushion n3eds a bit more trimming and bending to fit wheel arch and sit flat. More foam to be added to bottom cushion so it sits on the floor too. And gearbox mount. I have managed to use the stock honda mount which has vibration dampeners on it. And that is mated to two 49 flathead ford v8 engine mounts, which I have also used to mount engine. Half way through gearbox crossmember. Hopefully finished tomorrow. Quote

maccat01 Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Posted March 6, 2014 Hello all just an update. I sent my hubs off to get engineered so my rotors fit. Should pick them up in a couple of weeks. I also bought some r32 gtst wheels for the front of rolla and have some r32 gtr wheels coming soon for the back. Quote
maccat01 Posted March 11, 2014 Author Report Posted March 11, 2014 Gearbox mount done. Made a collar from round tube so crossmember is sealed. Quote
maccat01 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Got my wheels finally. R32 gtst fronts and r32 gtr rears. Polished the lip on the wheels as gtr ones were badly kerbed so filed and sanded till smooth. Now just need to paint centre of front wheels then can get tyres fitted. Fitted front brakes and calipers clear easily :-) Edited February 17, 2015 by maccat01 Quote
