Fayt Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 yeah they are bloody wide, and obviously, the car have guards screwed on, its a fully work 3k engine with twin 45DCOE webers, when my dad owned it it only had twin 40DCOE webers, and although 45's would give a little more hp, it would make the car cranky to drive I'll see if I can get some pics of it, it looks pretty tough on the outside but inside there is no interior, its just bare shell, roll cage, seat, gear knob, steering wheel and monster tacho, that's all he wants $6500 for it, but in my opinion thats a little too much and the wheels are definatly wider that 7's, I'm not exactly sure but they are "definately" wider than 7's, they could even be 9's, but could only be 8's, so i just rounded it up and said 8.5 :y:
ke70pussywagon Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 the rims look tip top they would go great with some lower
turbo_rolla Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 Yeah, $6500 for a bare interior car might be a bit much, but sounds like its had lots of work put into it regardless! Just gotta find the right buyer! I thought he'd have to have some bolt on flares or something to squeeze them under :P Would look awesome though....such a small car with massive rims! :y: Thanks pussywagon! Found out tonight after driving it that i'll definately have to do the guards if i lower it. It still has the stockers in the boot, and the tyre was rubbing going over bumps on the LHS rear. The front right also was bumping the guard when i came up my drive way. Will see if i can get some cheapish 2nd hand springs, or wait a bit and do it properly all at once  Very happy with the result so far though! :P
corolla_bitten Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 looks tuff man, my car rubs on back lhs as well. y is that :y:
Fayt Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 (edited) Yeah, $6500 for a bare interior car might be a bit much, but sounds like its had lots of work put into it regardless! 3/4 of the stuff done to it was done by my dad 30 years ago :y: and he sold it for $3000 back then which was a nice sum of money 30 years ago :P but when it was owned by my dad the thing was "immaculate"!!! It had everything done to it and it look so freakin awesome!!! And it was tuned so perfectly that it just took of like a rocket!! but my dad had a test drive of it about a year ago and it had a lot of things done to it that only a moron could do :P my dad sold it as a perfect race/road car but then somewhere down the track somebody decided it would be good to rip out all of the interior, put in a tacho which is nearly the same size as the steering wheel, and now the thing is a bitch to drive, because they f**ked around with the engine, and it used to a have a very rare LSD in it, but now it only has a welded diff  Edited January 31, 2006 by Fayt
Felix Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 turbo_rolla, paint the centers black and polish the face and they will look even better. then i guess lowering with an adjustable panhard rod and it will be choice.
turbo_rolla Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 my car rubs on back lhs as well. y is that I thought mine was because of the rims were stacked to the left, but if anything they're stacked to the right lol. Will have to see if it still does it once they're out! :P I look forward to seeing some pics of the car fayt :P paint the centers black and polish the face and they will look even better Was gonna spray the centres black felix cause i'd seen them like that on another car and they looked pretty good, but hadnt thought of polishing the face! That'll be a nice cheap & quick exercise when i move into my new house :y: Until then, adobe is a good friend. Rear is with "black" spray done, front is as is:
Fayt Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 there you go :y: black centre looks much better, then all you need is a few coats of autosol on the bare alloy and you are in business :P black centre gives the perseption of more dish :P
turbo_rolla Posted January 31, 2006 Author Report Posted January 31, 2006 black centre gives the perseption of more dish Ah yes, the magical four letter word........DISH :y: Will hopefully get it done in the next week or two so will post actual pics once its done! :P
Rolla__Boy Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Hell yeah, that black centre looks good. And Felix is spot on....They look very very good on your car though, I like em....and I don't normally like anything with hotwires hehe...most people love em, I just have different tastes. I LOVE globes, and jelly beans though....Xany's car looks so damn hot with the jelly beans
Fayt Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 just imagine what my jelly bean mags would look like without black centre's, it would just look incorrect..... people would look at it and they wouls say: "Nice corolla man, but uh, something seems -incorrect-" :y:
Felix Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 i would even paint the spokes of the hotwires black, then polish the face of them...as well as the centers.
Rolla__Boy Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Everyone has black spokes though :y: Just polish the face, paint the centre black, and leave it I reckon
turbo_rolla Posted February 1, 2006 Author Report Posted February 1, 2006 Yeah, will start with the centres and go from there i reckon! WIll probably leave the spokes silver for the time being though :P Took the stock rims out of the boot tonight and realised it has to be lowered cause it looks like a 4wd with the stock ride height :y: Though the guards will definately have to be done, so we'll see.
