Haha, yes indeed i was.

yeah i'm down for a cruise tho i can't yet my foot is completely borked so moving anywhere is a pain and driving isn't fun (everytime i accelerate you'll hear me shreeking in pain)

 

anyway hopefully the sound system will be installed in the next few weeks, gotta do something to the locks its dangerously easy to get broken into.

 

anyone got ideas on what i can do to counter this?

Shel I was talking to someone yesterday about a KE 2 door they wanted to sell. I don't have much info other than its down on the Peninsular and its an auto. Let me know if you want the details.

Thanks a lot for thinking of me! I'd prefer manual over auto but I guess it just depends what comes up at the right time. If you have the details handy then definitely pass them on, but I don't think I can justify it currently, so I would be looking at it more out of interest/ gauging prices for what quality sort of thing. I got knocked back on a N/A 13B.

Did you get knocked back based on compromise to structural integrity? I don't know if it would actually make a significant difference in stress on the rest of the car from having a 12A or 12B, especially if you had a ported, well tuned 12A compared to a stock N/A 13B. Haha guess no point being ambitious for the 20B!

 

If the rest of the car was modified to take the power, is it possible to find an engineer who would pass it? I was reading the thread about this stuff a while ago, but can't remember exactly what you guys were saying.

 

Have you seen the MAZOLA around? Do you know what engine he's running?

The 13B got knocked back due to strict power to weight laws outlined by Vic Roads.

The whole driveline on my car has been upgraded, as well as the chassis being strengthened. Its doesnt make a scrap of difference to an engineer when using that as an argument to push for a 13B conversion.

 

The figures are taken from stock power figures, regardless of the fact that you can get a ported 12A to go harder than Stock 13B.

 

If you have your heart set on a 13B or 20B, just go buy an RX7 or a Cosmo.

roosa, was that due to your car being a ke30 and not a ke55? had you have taken the ke55 weight would you have been able to get a 13B cleared?

Whats the difference in weights between a 30 and 55? I can't imagine it being much as they are basically the same car.

I do know that it wasnt a case of being borderline no to the 13B. It was a NOPE.

 

Maybe someone who is keen should try their luck with one of the other VASS's and rule out any chance that its just my engineer that knocked it back.

 

I think a mod or region leader should move this to a new thread as its starting to take over from the main reason of having this meet and greet thread.

Hey man better get solex locks around 100- 150 bux alot better locks much harder to get broken into u can get them from repco or other car shops.

i'm 19 and live in the south east suburbs. i have a 72 ke20 and keep buying wheels for it. (last count was 13 plus two extra tires) i have already met some of the melbourne boys and hope to meet all you other active members. i'm currently studying mechanical engineering at RMIT in the city. i'm fairly cash-flow challenged (have no job) but i'm up for as drive at any time.
