Addicted Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Can't damn well believe it. After all the work I've done, on the way for blue slip inspection the car would not give me top gear (3 spd. Auto) Tried rocking it 2-D D-2 etc. I have adjusted the carby and am wondering if it is the kick down cable at 80, lift the foot off and it goes into drive, hold it down a bit and it snaps in at 90 at say 60 lift your foot off slowing down for a corner it might go into drive. Should there be any play in the kickdown cable or should it be taught. Please Help I had one quote to rebuild at $1000, but it sounds something stupid Quote
corollaart Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Check the vacum hose that goes from the inlet to the rear of transmission.Had a old bogandore that done the same thing once. rob Quote

TRD ke70 Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Kick down cable should have slack in it. Quote
Addicted Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 Thanks TRD Ke70, she won't kickdown until 80-90% throttle, fluid checked... bit more of a symptom. Get to the correct speed/rpm lift off throttle, then it shifts Quote
