Keto91 Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Hey guys, i've recently fitted a worked 5k to my ke70. After fiddling around with the ignition timing i finally got the thing started! My issue though is once i switched the ignition off, it would "run on" i cut off fuel to the carb but continued to run until i stalled it. Any ideas would be appreciated! Quote
flyinwall Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 have you got your timing set properly??? Quote
altezzaclub Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Does it have a fuel cut-off solenoid? ..or was 'cutting off the fuel to the carb' done some other way? Timing can do it, or a really high compression, or hotspots in the combustion chamber. Does it over-run forwards or backwards?? Mine did it a couple of times in Cairns when fully warmed up on a hot day, but never does it up here in Orange. Quote
agius Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 What fuel you using? Iff its 91, try 95 or 98 premium Quote
project-77 Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 (edited) Had a similar problem in a ae82 i had with a 4efte, not the same at all i know. But mine wouldn't turn off because the ignition switch was stuffed. happened all of a sudden after a long drive (250km, long for me as it gets me to the other end of the state). I also had to stall it to get it to stop. worth looking at maybe only suggesting this as it reads to me that by "running on" you mean it'll keep going till you do something about it Edited July 9, 2012 by project-77 Quote
Keto91 Posted July 13, 2012 Author Report Posted July 13, 2012 all good, there was some incorrect markings on my crank that through out my timing. My issue now is how much oil does a 5k take? Quote
