Hey guys,

i've recently fitted a worked 5k to my ke70.

After fiddling around with the ignition timing i finally got the thing started!

My issue though is once i switched the ignition off, it would "run on"

i cut off fuel to the carb but continued to run until i stalled it.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Does it have a fuel cut-off solenoid? ..or was 'cutting off the fuel to the carb' done some other way?

Timing can do it, or a really high compression, or hotspots in the combustion chamber.

Does it over-run forwards or backwards??

Mine did it a couple of times in Cairns when fully warmed up on a hot day, but never does it up here in Orange.

Had a similar problem in a ae82 i had with a 4efte, not the same at all i know. But mine wouldn't turn off because the ignition switch was stuffed. happened all of a sudden after a long drive (250km, long for me as it gets me to the other end of the state). I also had to stall it to get it to stop. worth looking at maybe

only suggesting this as it reads to me that by "running on" you mean it'll keep going till you do something about it
