rke_011 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Can anyone confirm if a t50 came out standard with cable clutch? I thought they were all hydro. I think I have one because it doesn't look like a k box.. just curious if its standard or a custom jobbie. Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 They come out with both cable n hydro . u might be lucky and have a k to t cable ?? Pix would be able to confirm Quote
sprinterfiend Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 An easy way to tell what gearbox you have is to check the following: If the bellhousing bolts on to the gearbox its a cable T50. If it has an integral bellhousing it an A-series K50. Quote
sprinterfiend Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 ......Assuming its your 4age powered ke10 your talking about. If not disregarding the A-series bit, the rest still applies. Quote
Guest pmp16 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) to my knowledge this isnt correct , i have both cable and hydro and both of them t50 boxes the bellhousing unbolts from gearbox correct me if I'm wrong tho ? hence y u can get a cable or hydro K to T bellhousing and bolt them to a T50 box Edited July 8, 2012 by pmp16 Quote

All T50s have bellhousings that bolt to the gearbox. If, however, the gerabox in question is a rare (to aust) A-series K50 gearbox then the bellhousing wont be bolt on. It will be integral to the gearbox. Its a fast way to tell the difference between two of the popular cable clutch gearbox options for RWD 4ag engine I took a guess that the mystery gearbox was bolted to a 4ag but may have got ahead of myself there. rke_011 Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 yeah mate, cheers for that.. its bolted to a 4age.. just never knew that t50's come out cable clutch.. is there any real disadvantage to having cable not hydro? prefer cable seeing its simple. Is it only pedal feel that is the difference between cable and hydro? Quote
styler Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Strength, stretch and adjustment on cable clutch is probably why manufaturers changed to hydro. Quote
rke_011 Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 hmmm.. ahh well should be strong enough for a stock 4age id think/hope. Quote
rke_011 Posted July 16, 2012 Author Report Posted July 16, 2012 can't be bothered fitting and modifying.. if i don't have to. Quote
bAKER Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 There will be a lot less hassle in the long run, and there's not that much modifying involved. If you're goin I the effort of a 4ag any way Quote
