Jrad Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Hey, just a quick question. Are 5k gasket kits the same as 4k? I'm getting around to doing my engine conversion and will need a few gaskets, namely the exhaust gasket for the extractors etc. I was thinking of just buying something like this and doing it all in one go: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-4K-Engine-Gasket-Kit-/261030901888?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc6a77880 Would you guys say that's a suitable kit to be using? thanks! Jono.C Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Ask for an extractor gasket. It's worth it Quote
towe001 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 The only thing thats different between the 4k and 5k is the head gasket. Cylinder bores are bigger in the 5k. Quote
coln72 Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Ask for an extractor gasket. It's worth it Or buy two and sandwich them together with a little silastic. Quote
Evan G Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 or get a genuine toyota one witch is a multi layer metal one that can withstand the biggest keybangers! Quote
Jono.C Posted June 17, 2012 Report Posted June 17, 2012 Extractor gaskets are one piece though, not two piece. Less leaks. They're also a bit thicker. Quote
