glenpos Posted May 4, 2013 Author Report Posted May 4, 2013 RACE DAY, i put together a spare pwr steering pump last night, so if i have any problems i can change it, the one on there sounds a bit crap, will see how it goes haha Quote
glenpos Posted May 6, 2013 Author Report Posted May 6, 2013 Hello, was a good day, came home with first in my class again, and came 18th out of 93 drivers, was some very fast and expensive cars there so pretty happy with that, knocked another second off but think i could have got at least another sec faster, car was feeling great but only got 2 sessions as the high pressure power steering line broke the flare off the end, was no way to fix it and no where to get another, at least i got to watch some racing haha :D will put some vids up later :P 1 Quote
kickn5k Posted May 6, 2013 Report Posted May 6, 2013 only got 2 sessions as the high pressure power steering line broke the flare off the end, was no way to fix it and no where to get another. Going to Teflon braid lines and AN fittings should fix it. That's if it's allowed in saloon cars? A mate and myself are looking into getting a saloon car each(fair few cheaper older cars for sale ATM). There was a story about them on "Gasolene" on ch74 last week. Such a close series!! Quote
glenpos Posted May 6, 2013 Author Report Posted May 6, 2013 hey, i got a 1.42.2 but only got 8 laps, and most of them were held up a little by cars, i got a 1.42.7 in the first session and that was on a lap that i had a moment and was lock to lock sideways twice, so think i could have easily got a 1.41.5, i think it only broke because i had pulled it off about ten times in the last month haha, yeah i saw that, recorded it too haha, i think i could run pretty well mid field atm, my cars cost about 9, the front cars have cost them around $30k, mine will be around 11k once its done, then getting around 70 laps per meeting and being able to adjust a few things will help Quote
glenpos Posted May 7, 2013 Author Report Posted May 7, 2013 here is race 1 i let the guy go off the line as i thought he would be faster as its a 6ltr 6 spd with semi slicks, but he wasn't haha Quote
glenpos Posted May 8, 2013 Author Report Posted May 8, 2013 and race 2, this one has a ke70 in it, its a friend of a friends, its got a 4age in it, i think its lap 3 that he does a big slide up the straight, was cool to get it on camera :y: Quote
glenpos Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 and here is that moment from outside, sorry the corners are around backwards, my mum was holding her phone upside down haha Quote
glenpos Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 hey guys, cars all going again, also have some saas gauges i'm gonna install, just a tacho, water temp and oil pressure, and a shift light, they were just ones i had sitting around that a mate gave me, its nice to not have anything to fix on the car, so i can spend my money on making it go faster. the stupid thing that ended the day haha they look crap in the pics... what do you's think? orangeLJ Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 Pull the old cluster out I say! Alloy sheet with some holes and sit them back where the original cluster was. Quote
glenpos Posted May 13, 2013 Author Report Posted May 13, 2013 yeah i might do that one day, but for now i need my fuel gauge so i'll just do it like that, seeing if i can get my speedo to work atm, if i can i will leave the gauges for now or mount them else where Quote
glenpos Posted May 27, 2013 Author Report Posted May 27, 2013 finally have a bit of an update, i purchased a new set of pbr-c4 callipers, they are the control saloon car ones, cost $800.... at least they came with good pads that are around $200, but they do look pretty sick, will get the calliper brackets that are a control item too, and i'm getting a pair of 330mm x 28mm discs off ebay for around $400, most of the saloon cars run discs that cost around $1000, also iv'e pulled my old cluster out and apart, and will mound the gauges in the old cluster housing with a bit of tin plate, anyways here is some pics!
