B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Slip on thread with the weld on perch? Quote
frknstn Posted September 12, 2013 Author Report Posted September 12, 2013 Yeah. Not the best style but cheap as so its a win Quote
frknstn Posted October 8, 2013 Author Report Posted October 8, 2013 Got some 5 mill plate off cuts from work and made some seat mounts finally. Welded in main piece then cut up two more langths bolted to the seat and welded them on the main plate. Has a nice bit of 3mm stainless chanel style shit I found. Not sure what it was from but its strong as balls. Welded that in under the rear of the seat and bolted it up aswell. Seat does slide but its stiff as shit so gonna be a bitch to get back off if I have to. Just go Na clean up the front with a panel covering the Gap you can see. Quote
frknstn Posted October 14, 2013 Author Report Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) Started on the radiator today. Had to cut some space for it so I can have it on a slight angle for the bottom hose to clear the subframe and give more roo. For a slim fan trying to figure out how toount it now Edited October 14, 2013 by frknstn Quote
frknstn Posted October 15, 2013 Author Report Posted October 15, 2013 Cut some sheet metal drilled someholes to fit the original rubber base mounts for the rad welded them onto the subframeat an angle so the bottom hole has enough room. Made up two more mounts and welded them on. Two bolts and it come straight out. Also giving plenty of extra room for engine removal. Quote
frknstn Posted October 22, 2013 Author Report Posted October 22, 2013 started on the harness bar yesterday just got to go buy some tube for the bar itself cut to length and shes done. Quote
frknstn Posted October 26, 2013 Author Report Posted October 26, 2013 looks like the ecotec will be going single turbo. running very low boost until i pour a little money into. going to try and do this setup for a little $$ as possible found a real cheap garret t25 will start to fab up manifolds tomorrow and tack everything together and then take it into work and tig weld it all up. A t25 is ridiculously small on a 3.8L. Quote
glenpos Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 what sort of power are you going for and how much do you think it will cost? Quote
KE70+AE92 Posted October 26, 2013 Report Posted October 26, 2013 T25 is heaps too small for thid beast!! I'm in the process of putting two t28s on my nugget! Not a big process to do and pretty cheap! easy to make a manifold, for the ecu you can buy real time tunable memcals! And there only bout $300! 42lb injectors, which are cheap too! And a few other little things, if your doing everthing your self you could probably get away with it for a few grand! Quote
frknstn Posted October 27, 2013 Author Report Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) only going with the t25 because i can get it for $60 and will just be for setup purposes really before moving over to a gt35. i know its tiny but its to cheap to pass up on. not sure how much power really havnt looked at similar results people have had but once the engine is built up will aim for around 350hp. which should be failry easily obtainable.
