frknstn Posted September 12, 2012 Author Report Posted September 12, 2012 since my car is missing the seat mounting rails like so. i started to think how to overcome that the best way. the rest of what is left there will be removed as best as possible. i got some square tube and mounted it on the right side of the seat to raise it up level since the rollas floor is slanted. then i will be making up mounting brackets off the ends of the rails with 4mm flat bar that can get bent to the shape of the corolla with bolts then going down through the floor with flat bar backing plates so it doesnt rip through the floor with the nuts welded onto them can anyone who has delt with scrutineering at event see a reason why it would pass or not this is the only thing i have been able to come up with to fix the problem Quote
frknstn Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) ive finally found the ducktail wing i want. onlything its 20cm to long so I'm gonna have to cut and fibre it back up but should look the good. i leave for perth on friday so have some parts coming and should be here while I'm gone then when i get back the old man and i are gonna finally hook in and get it together. leWolf Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Damn thats freakin sweet! What transmission is that in there? If it's stock who makes adaptors? Also if that is the buick engine why not bolt on the supercharger setup? Quote
frknstn Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 All the mounts have to be custom made. It's the Holden t5 box I believe I have plans once we get this going and sort the suspension out to change to the supercharged engine or over to a vg30det Which ever one come my way first Quote
frknstn Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Hey look I have a wing. Test fit before crashing out. Been sitting in a car for the past five days Phone won't upload the pics. Will do it in the morning Edited October 4, 2012 by frknstn Quote
dbr11k Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Wing looks tuff man love it, what's it off ? Quote
frknstn Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 Gte Xu1 Torana. It's almost a perfect fit man. And there fairly cheap Quote
frknstn Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 few more pics of it pretty much fitted could do with a bit of work on the ends to fit a bit better. the only thing about this wing is that on either end it kicks out a bit giving the gap on the ends you could fibre in those spaces I'm guessing or cut the shape out of the boot line to match and it would fit better but thats more effort than i can be bothered with since its only a thrasher. looks the good anyway and its a perfect fit lenght wise. styler Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) You might have to rethink that seat mount idea as it won't hold up too well strength wise, maybe with thicker flat bar, closer bolt mounting and extended length under rail it might though... The problem is bolting it or welding it to the rail isn't always easy unfortunately. Edited October 5, 2012 by styler Quote
