74coupe Posted June 11, 2012 Author Report Posted June 11, 2012 Cheers mate. I don't want to go too wide either and I'm located in Hastings Vic, so just any tyre shop? Quote
kickn5k Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Cheers mate. I don't want to go too wide either and I'm located in Hastings Vic, so just any tyre shop? Nah they are old school jap rims which you'll need to source secondhand. The only wheel that you will be able to get through tyre shops that will look any good are superlights. Everything else will be late model styled and won't look any good. Tyrepower in Hastings will be able to sort you out with them. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) You can get SSR's new if you have deep pockets. Have a browse here too: http://www.otomoto.com.au/c/4073478/1/used-wheels.html Edited June 11, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
19914afc Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 SSR's aren't as exxy as people make them out to be I got my 13x8 MK2's for $800 and then was another $300 for a set of decent street tyres. Otherwise these are a popular choice and fit most corollas I think. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/60816-ma61-wheels/ Quote
74coupe Posted June 11, 2012 Author Report Posted June 11, 2012 watanabes - not bad seen them before and liked hayashi streets. - Not bad prob 3rd choice trd tosco. - prob the best I like but where?? Lol list goes on :) but those are my favs With those 3 that suit the rolls nice where would I find them to suit? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) EDIT: Your car wont fit MA61's as you have a 4x110 PCD stud pattern unless you have new struts/diff? Edited June 11, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
74coupe Posted June 11, 2012 Author Report Posted June 11, 2012 Cheers mate, sorry u will have to be patient with me, still learning all this.. Quote
19914afc Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 ah yeah, well saab 15" steel wheels should fit otherwise look on yahoo japan for 4x110 otherwise shorten some ke30 axles and get ke30 front hubs and will fit way more wheels. Quote
Jono.C Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 You're limited to your stud pattern. Early corolla's like yours and ke10's have a 4x110 bolt pattern, so when buying wheels make sure they're listed as that. Most of the wheels that'll suit will be a 4x114.3 bolt pattern, so ke70, skyline, silvia and most rear wheel drive japanese cars. What you can do, is change your front hubs to ke30/55/ ke70 ones. They bolt straight on, and then you get the 4x114.3 bolt pattern and a better choice of wheels. For the back, you can change the axles to ke30/55 ones. or.. You can buy bolt on wheel adaptors online that change your stud pattern to the 4x114.3 setup Quote
74coupe Posted June 11, 2012 Author Report Posted June 11, 2012 Cheers guys, I don't want to go all out with rims, just something to suit the age and style so it doesn't look new but keep the 74 look.. Considering a diff change, so I can have a LSD and do the diff gears.. What would I use for that?? Cheers Quote
coln72 Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 If you swap the axels to get the later pattern, remember to shorten them a bees to suit the narrower KE2# diff housing. Quote
silverra23 Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 these wheels are the correct stud pattern http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/wantirna/wheels-tyres-rims/14-ssr-star-formula-s-rx2-rx3-rx4-ke10-ke20-wheels-tyres/1002884533 not sure the size will work, but I imagine it will. Quote
19914afc Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Those wheels should fit very well I would think and look very nice! I am just a bit concerned about the tyre size, haha. Especially considering they are skinner than the original tyre size, haha. Quote
