It's_AUDM_Yo Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 (edited) I was just wondering if anyone had tried this type of thing in there rolla? Because I was thinking I may give it a whirl. http://www.ebay.com....44#ht_808wt_884 edit: think its mainly for bikes now but the question is still out there. irokin Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Are those cells E85 compliant taz? Some of the ATL bladders are but you have to change the foam type. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 Some of the ATL bladders are but you have to change the foam type. Hmm, something to keep in mind! Never thought of that before. Quote
kickn5k Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 Hmm, something to keep in mind! Never thought of that before. Yeah I asked about one that looked the same as yours for my car. Was told that the majority of the new fuel cells were now made with baffling in either a steel or aluminum(coated internally) so they were compliant with a wider range of fuels. Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted June 6, 2012 Author Report Posted June 6, 2012 Standard fuel tanks are baffled to reduce sloshing around. My after market fuel cell is foam filled. I thought carbie tanks weren't baffled. Thats why most people run surge tanks. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 I thought carbie tanks weren't baffled. Thats why most people run surge tanks. People run surge tanks on EFI setups not carbie. Thats why carbies have float bowls!! Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted June 6, 2012 Author Report Posted June 6, 2012 Hmm should have pointed out. That I ment for KE70 with a 4A-GE. Thus I EFI motor with a carbie fuel tank. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Its got nothing to do with the tank, its the lack of float bowl and the function it performs (basically a surge tank contained within a carby) in an EFI setup. Quote
irokin Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Anti-spray foam wont even come close to replacing a surge tank either. It doesn't really provide much in the way of baffling, that's not its purpose. Quote
styler Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 The foam breaks down as well, in a year or two and costs a pretty penny. "Replace when foam clogs fuel filter" - Hmmmmm... There are advantages and disadvantages of pickups baffles, surge tanks and foam when it comes to fuel supply, all are expensive in the end though. Quote
