rolla70 Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 hey people i own a ke70 and wanna put 17" chromies on it but am not sure on what i have to do as most hit the strut. do i need newer model struts? spacers? or just the right wheels with the right offset? Quote
irokin Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 right offset and probably spacers as well... chromies :) eww Quote
OniBerserker Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 (edited) yeah I'm shopping for rims at the moment, how hard is it to get a set of spacers for ke70?? Edited January 22, 2006 by OniBerserker Quote
irokin Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Bolt on spacers are better, but theyre still dodgy. You can get them in up to 30mm from memory. But avoid spacers unless your absolutely stuck. Also, depending on where you are 17s will probably be illegal (and for that matter 16s probably will be too). AFAIK in queensland the maximum rim diameter increase is 2 inches with an overall rolling diameter (including tyres) increase of just 26mm (booo!!) Quote
rolla70 Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 iam in nt so laws aint that strict. i heard if i use spacers they may cause stub axles to break or something can't remember really but yeah, any help is great Quote
tuff_ke Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 i run 25mm slide ons on the front of my rolla with no adverse effects.. but i have got super long wheel studs too imo even 16's are too big for a rolla.. stick with some uber cool jap 15s... plenty big enough for a little corolla Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I also runs spacers on the front of my corolla, have had for about a year, I have long wheel studs too. My car is pretty damn low, and VERY bumpy, and I have not had even a hint of a problem with them. Quote
Fayt Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 ditto with Rolla Boy i use spacers, and I have not a worry in the world :) Quote
rolla70 Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 well spacers sound like the way to go. can anyone hook me up with some spacers...where i can get sum or if u have some laying around Quote
Fayt Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Nick's post a few posts back in this thread said he got some for $40 buck, ask him :( chromies+ke70 :) interesting choice my "personal" opinion is that chromies would look far better than stockies, but for what you pay for them, it aint worthit, unless you wanna put them on an escalade or something, but anyway do what you like, and what you think would look cool, thats the important thing, some people will like it, some people will hate it, you will always get this response from any wheel you have on a car  ke70 with chromies: ke70's with mags: Quote
Killswitch Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 What ya going to do with your old rims dude? Noticed your car on boostcruising for sale, wouldn't mind taking them off you if the price is right. That is of course if you were planning on selling them... Back on topic.. I believe as others have said spacers are the go, but I really wouldn't go chrome. Its not a ke70 thing. But its your car so yeah, good luck. Quote
rolla70 Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 i was looking at like shadow chrome or something i don't wantr bling bling like coroln i just want nice modern wheels, killswitch if i do find new rims yeah ill get rid of my current ones and ill give ya a yell Quote
