kickn5k Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 hey so i just pulled the supercharger off and put a turbo on and made 150rwhp now the exedy hd button clutch can't hold 150 hp what upgrades are there?? This happens apparently. Another boosted K RC member was saying recently, he'd had the same problem. The pressure plate needs more clamp pressure, take the pressure plate off and send it off for a spring upgrade. My STD clutch held 100rwkw/134rwhp with huge amounts of torque. But if I slightly rested my foot on the clutch pedal it would slip, so I'm guessing that was pretty close to it's limit. Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 6, 2012 Author Report Posted May 6, 2012 ahh i see well ill have a look at that, my other plan was to put an old supercar clutch in it and use 1 plate instead of 3 plates and machine it down Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Have a look at the clutch plate..... Mine seemed slightly too small! There was a bit of meat left inside the contact area. DidYou machine your fw? Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 7, 2012 Author Report Posted May 7, 2012 yeah your right taz the plate seems to be a bit small. maybe i can try an extreme or something Quote
Jono.C Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Thought about switching up to a T50? I couldn't imagine a k40/50 will last you too long at all.. Especially if you have a weldy(?) Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 7, 2012 Author Report Posted May 7, 2012 where would i find a bellhousing and is the clutch used with that any better then the one i would have? Quote
Evan G Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 are you using a 180mm or 200mm clutch? i HIGHLY doubt a button clutch would slip with boosted 4k. ours didnt slip with a highly boosted 7k? derpp? 1 Quote
SLO-030 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 are you using a 180mm or 200mm clutch? i HIGHLY doubt a button clutch would slip with boosted 4k. ours didnt slip with a highly boosted 7k? derpp? Aforementioned clutch held up perfectly, Copped a reasonable amount of crap on top of the 250hp it was taking in the first place. Never slipped. Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 DidYou machine your fw? ^^^this, did you machine your flywheel??? 1 Quote
Mitch-12 Posted May 7, 2012 Author Report Posted May 7, 2012 yeah fly machined its whatever size the stock 4k flywheel is havnt measured it. its on e85 and has lots of torque at about 130hp it starts to slip must be where its making the most torque i guess. also its adjusted correctly if anyone was wondering Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 No....was yh fw faced? T50 clutch isn't still 180mm jono Quote

Jono.C Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 T50 clutch isn't still 180mm jono What do you mean? I was just assuming there'd be more/ better options for clutches for the t50. Never actually looked into it with mine Quote
