narchi Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Hey guys. I have done a search and nothing has come up or not really answered my question. I just picked up a AE82 Corolla Seca and the suspension is really sloppy. I wanna make this a hill climb warrior as its already had a 20V Conversion (Got for $300 to so really happy with it lol) Just need to know if i start getting prices on suspension for any AE model will the suspension be the same e.g I used to have an AE86 and i sitll have parts around the house. Thanks. Quote
Twincam16seca Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) These are more than what you paid for the car but hey i think they're ok, http://www.ebay.com....6.c0.m270.l1313 I got the ae86 set for my ae71, you can get what ever spring rate you want too! Ae86 suspension won't bolt up to ae82, as the ae82 is front wheel drive. I also have an AE82 seca twincam and all i have done is replace the shocks with KYB's but i couldn't get the "sports" type, also at that stage I didn't look into interchangeable parts from later models such as AE92/93/101/111. The AE101/111 had super strut suspension and bigger/better brakes so there are plenty of options! hope this helped a bit. also try www.ae82.net www.toymods.com Edited April 17, 2012 by Twincam16seca Quote
Subaru_kid Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 You can buy coilovers from MRP that have been tried and tested. I stand by his coilovers as I have them in my car... theyre awesome! Also all AExx sussy is fine to use on an AE82 apart from the strut tops which you will need to change Quote
narchi Posted April 19, 2012 Author Report Posted April 19, 2012 Cheers guys. Ill look into it. Was looking at more of a shocks and spring setup like i did on my last hill climb car. I find adjustable coilovers are a bit to stiff if they are cheaper sorts. Quote
Subaru_kid Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Mine is 6/4kg rates and it is actually quite comfy and not bone jarring stiff just firm, and yes they were cheap aswell. Choose your rates wisely and adjust the shocks to your liking ;) Quote
lachlano2000 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 anyone heard of largus before? I found these the other night while considering suspension options. http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x216813111 Quote
