RA28GT Posted April 16, 2012 Author Report Posted April 16, 2012 It is pretty awesome. Whats not awesome is $2000 to rebuilt the brakes as parts are not available anymore. Shit. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 gorgeous. Beautiful lines, just needs a gun rack in the rear, some heavies in the front and bullet proof glass. This has Castro written all over it. :P Quote

RA28GT Posted April 16, 2012 Author Report Posted April 16, 2012 Thats when you start thinking of a diff swap. Hydraulic rear ? Its four wheel drums. The fronts are the issue. Ive got all four being rebuilt, a bearing changed and a new booster done for $1200 now so that will have to do. Rear is air bagged, just need to do the front now. Quote
RA28GT Posted June 13, 2012 Author Report Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Ok thought it was about time I updated this thread and do a proper write up. 1960 Mercedes 220S Fintail 2.2L Straight 6 Twin Carb 4 Speed column manual (Fark yes) Air Bags in rear, single tank with compressor. 13" Standard wheels with the biggest whitewall inserts ever. Couches as seats So I've brought this off a friend of mine as he had too many projects going. Its an absolutely beautiful car and will be stunning when its finished. Plans are to firstly get the front air bagged so I can look cool while driving. Then from there just tidy small things up and finally a bare metal respray to cap it off. The last goal will be a little while off as I have other projects first. So far I've tidied up alot of small things, put new tires on her and located some wide 13" whitewall inserts. I've also installed an original radio to get rid of the horrible CD player in the dash. Heres a couple pictures and a video of the range and speed of the air bags in the rear. http://youtu.be/qAo7ar7AAkY Edited June 13, 2012 by RA28GT 2 Quote

RA28GT Posted January 24, 2014 Author Report Posted January 24, 2014 Well its been ages since I've done alot with the Mercedes. I have found an entire original red interior set in next to perfect condition, I will have to get some pictures. Ordered all my gear to get the front bagged and came across a set of wheels that I thought might work instead of the standard gear. They are genuine german 16x8 +11 rials. Very rare wheels and although they came out early 70's I think the suit my finny well? Here's a photoshop of its ultimate driving height: and here's the current height: Most people like them what are you guys opinions? 1 Quote
