BlueKsev Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Oh i mean, the 4k's i found were out of a car that was still registered as running that motor, so if i was to try and get the motor registered in my Ke, they would have picked it up that it should still be in a different registered ke70. The one at SP Garage is out of my mates which is undergoing an sr20 conversion right now, and he is not having it mod-plated yet so you wouldnt be able to get that 4k legally registered/ plated or whatever in your ke. That said, everyone swaps motors in old cars and police don't check engine numbers unless something looks wrong, and if the motor is standard and in the right model car they usually wont even bother Edited April 13, 2012 by BlueKsev Quote

Jono.C Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 In Tasmania you have to get the car Inspected once you replace the motor, even if it's the same motor you have to have it checked if it has a different engine number. It's lame. So if it won't pass pits, stick with your motor now Quote
Nostalgia Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 Oh okay no wonder I hadn't heard that before ha! Well I just posted on their wall to see if they have any or may come into any :) Quote
Nostalgia Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 And Jono.C, George passed pits not 4 months ago :) Should be fine, plus the owner of where I go is a mate of my mums Quote
BlueKsev Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Yeah but its a standard motor, the right model car, you would have to have a seriously mean insurance company for them to void it. You'd be surprised what i've seen let through insurance inspections.... Quote
Nostalgia Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 Yeah I didn't think I'd have too much of a problem. What about a 5k if I was to find one? Surely they only came in corolla's in the US, but it's still a k series and not much of a power or size difference, I reckon insurance companies wouldn't be so lenient.. But a mod plate is hardly worth it Quote
