anastasios Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Hi all, I've been away from rollaclub for a while, at the moment I am building an AE71 with JDM bigport and JDM fuel tank. I am stuck with too much confusing information regarding the wiring. I have a circuit opening relay. I have one of these http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SY4076&CATID=79&form=CAT2&SUBCATID=979#1 And i need to know how to make it all work Ive grounded the earth wire from the fuel pump in the boot I also came across this: White/Black - Wires to to STA - Starter/ECU Start Signal. White/Red - Wires to EFI Relay - +12v Ignition Switched power (Run through a suitably sized fuse, 10A is usually fine, but depends on your fuel pump). Green - Wires to engine run signal - "FC" pin on 4AGE ECU. Black - Wires to body earth - Wire to closest earth point. Blue/Black - Wire to fuel pump positive - Gives power to your fuel pump. One guy from 86DC said this: The efi main relay is just a regular relay. The oem one isn't required unless you want to have it plug into the *e7* standard engine bay fuse/relay box (i know there is a spot for it, but not sure if the wiring is there like an 86 one). All the efi main relay does is give a 12v ignition source and power the ecu, the fuel pump and possibly one or two other items (probably on later model 4a's). I usually use the black orange wire (coil/igniter power) to trigger a new relay and create a new 12v iginition source (and label it efi main). Another: The COR is supposed to draw its power from the EFI main relay (there is no seperate fuel pump fuse). The EFI main relay will be switched by IGN connected by a 15amp fuse to the battery. The EFI main relay also powers the ECU and TVIS actuator. I'm just confused. someone care to help or draw me a diagram to follow? Quote
ke70dave Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 i just used this to wire my fuel pump: http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Circuit_Opening_Relay_Wiring Quote

ke70dave Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) I have confused myself somethign chronic. i will need to draw a diagram for you. and i will have to do that when i get home...sorry. Edited April 12, 2012 by ke70dave Quote
ke70dave Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 see above:P will get back to ya in a few hours after work. Quote
anastasios Posted April 12, 2012 Author Report Posted April 12, 2012 thanks mate, I'm in no rush, at work myself lol! Quote
anastasios Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 see above:P will get back to ya in a few hours after work. any chance with that diagram? Quote
Kebin[RL] Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 White/red is ignition power.... supplied from the (ignition) EFI relay. Wire your engine up (or pay someone to) as per 4age wiring diagram... it will make it much more easier to diagnose later. Quote
parrot Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Go here http://www.aeu86.org/index/technical-ae86-manuals/cat/9/topic=5158 download the 4AGE Diagnostics Manual by Parrot. Pages 1-16 1-17 are a simplified wiring schematic which clearly shows the FCR wiring. Elsewhere in the book , the various critical circuits are clearly set out Quote
anastasios Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) What is the 0.5G between the battery and 15A EFI on the corolla wiring diagram? Edited April 14, 2012 by anastasios Quote
anastasios Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 Okay so I have found out it is a fusible link, does anybody know where I could get this one? Quote
parrot Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 You should be able to find one at any auto parts place. AM1 and AM2 are located at the battery clamp. AM1 should be 80A on an EFI car and AM2 30A I am not absolutely certain, but pretty confident, that the FLO.5G fusible link is the one located in the engine fuse/relay box in an AE86. This is a 30A fusible link. Quote
anastasios Posted April 15, 2012 Author Report Posted April 15, 2012 What wire do you recommend I use from the fusible link to the relay? Quote
parrot Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 I'll leave that to the auto electricians on here, but I will point out, that this particular fusible link is their to protect the whole engine fuse/relay box, which includes the wiring relays etc. If you are simply wiring a supply to the fuel circuit relay, I shouldn't think it necessary to include a fusible link.
