Rolla__Boy Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Get 2 cans, spray one black and one silver with the cheap export paint, leave them in the sun and tell me which ones hotter. This is a different story, the sun is producing heat from outside, in a radiator the heat is produced from inside. Quote
Jason Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Put hot water in them.... and see what happens Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 They will both be about the same...and neither will be the same as a radiator painted in radiator paint...as I said...it's a different sort of paint. Quote
love ke70 Posted January 18, 2006 Author Report Posted January 18, 2006 thankyou rolla boy, id given up  Quote
Dan Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 hehe Rolla Boy to the rescue!!! Anyways even if you did paint it export black, it would end up looking like shit within a month or so anyway from little rocks hitting it and scraping up the paint. Suppose its better than having half an intercooler due to an hungry kerb  jk.... Quote
Jason Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 (edited) There will be a difference after a set amount of time... I still think that it would do a substantial amount. But that's just me. suddely realises how offtopic this got  Edited January 18, 2006 by Jason Quote

Rolla__Boy Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 I can't wait til you get this on the road... I bet you get pissed with it straight up  Quote
muller Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 this thread is great as a whole though. great ideas, and even if off topic has good politics. but overall the build is looking good man and youll just have to see what happens to the cooler although it seems that most people think it will be damaged by gutters, pedestrians, rocks. time will tell. and spraying a cooler or radiator with normal black paint would do nothing for it. black would absorb the heat and hold onto it. like wraping a black blanket around you and sitting in the sun. :) Quote
love ke70 Posted January 21, 2006 Author Report Posted January 21, 2006 yeah rolla boy, I'm still not sure, but ill just have to see how it goes, i mean alota cars have body kits that are lower muller it has been a good thread, i was surprised to get so much feedback, glad to see all the boys lookin out for me :( now another question, just thought id chuck it in here, i chucked it in another thread aswell but meh... i did a bit of running around today getting prices for a few different things inclusing exhaust all i need is a pipe from the turbos to the muffler, which is behind the diff, I'm getting it made from 3" pipe. what sort of price would people expect today as I'm getting quotes of 400 bucks as my cheapest, is that about right or am i getting bent over? also intercooling piping, getting it made out of exhaust pipe 2.5" painted gloss black so she'll look alright, price is about 400 including the reducers and and join onto turbo outlet, its 8 bends i think, is this a good price? it was the only place i found that would do it and i thought it sounded reasonable enough more worried about the exhaust price, what do people reckon? cheers guys :) Quote
