wooshka Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Hellooooo, I've been browsing this forum for a while now, from since when I started to get into Toyotas, which was when I first got my licence. how I first got it: 84 ae81 1.3 stroked to 1.5 weber 32/36 extractors cam What got me into Corollas was one of my older mates had one, and he had done it up and it was ʞ©$ɟing beautiful and blah blah blah got into an accident and wrote it off, but I still wanted one, pretty much exactly the same but with my own personal additives. Before my corolla, I was driving a Landcruiser 84 Model ʞ©$ɟing troop carrier fuel eater. It had its pros and cons, but it wasn't what I wanted, on another note, bought it for 2500, spent about a 1000 rebuilding it. Got my head together and shit and went out looking for a rolla, at the time I was basically new to the whole "JDM DRIFT STYLE SIC BRAH" scene, which at my age I thought it was cool because everyone with a geared up silvia or skyline had one. As I kept looking for one, it took months and months, rust bucket after rust bucket shit deal after shit deal, at one stage some idiot wanted 7500 for a 4k with Rotas? like what? Yeah in the end, I found one, a little yellow one. Had rust in the rear quarter panels, and around the boot trim but I loved it either way, don't know why but still did. At the time It had jdm stickers on it and what not, but soon after gave it a clean. A week after I got it, a close friend reccomended that we paint it, that he knew how to do it, and what not. So we started on it, not knowing how much it was going to take, well I'm guessing he did but I did not. When I first got it :) So we started taking it apart piece by piece, it took I'm guessing about a day with 6 of us to take it apart. Sorry about the quality, was taken off my phone at the time. After all that was done we booked in for the rust to be cut out and re-welded instead of bogged by a family business, but it took 7 weeks too long, and yet the job wasn't spectacular either way. We got it back and were deciding on a colour, we wanted to go the Chateau Mow on the GTR XU1 Toranas, but it was difficult to find, so we just went with a custom purple. It was a grueling process, trying to get everything as good as we could not being professionals. So after weeks and weeks of preparing, spray putting, stuff like that. We painted her. And she came out better than expected. Before you ask, it was raining before I took the photo :P oh and I drove it home without rego or a rwc, because it ran out during the rust cutting period /badass/ Just as a first post just to get some attention (if any) If people want to see what else we're doing to it, what we've done to the inside or whatever i'd be more than happy to keep going with updated posts :) Quote
