JiP Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 That was it when my Brother owned the car slighly (1 year) after he ran it into the ground. It looks alot cleaner now with about 230,000 k's less on the clock. Quote
love ke70 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 so thats stock, look pretty good if u ask me :( :) how you wind that back, boy? lol, but seriously, how did u do it? Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 I wind all mine back hehe You just pull it all apart, and there are the weird little clip things that hold the numbers together, with great skill and determination, you can move them, and turn the numbers back :) My one in my KE30 just shit...so I have to pull it apart again...will take pics :( Quote
JiP Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Mine i wound back with a drill and after the first 10,000 i picked it up and started turning it like a rubix cube. It was alittle like that, it was rough and all i could hear was crunching sounds. But it worked good now and i have the right reading for my current engine. Quote
love ke70 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 hmm, ill have to try this one day Quote
dolzz Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 I figured out the guage problem other week, it was just the float. Cleaned up the plugs fitted new float from wreckers and it works like a charm. Also cleaned up the temp plug and that works too. Got pink slip (even with bog patches) and the KE55 is now road worthy Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Love ke70 i would wait till after you get your roadworthy before you wind it back as the authorities tend to frown on that sort of thing especially considering you have a bogan 6 cylinder in a corolla lol. Quote
love ke70 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 thats probably a very good idea but i doubt i will bother doing it as I'm assuming it takes time and effort and i like to point out to people yes, its a 1.3, yes i just broke traction rather easily and yes it really has done 411k :) and that will just be even better when its a 1g instead of a 4k :locked: Quote
Teddy Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Meh, mines getting a complete rebuild, and on the re'rego form, you can tick the box "reset Km's" (different cluster) ~ putting mine to 0000kms. :locked: Quote
love ke70 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 but your car is gonna be almost 100% new, and will look and go better than new so its understandable why your setting the odometer to new aswell :locked: Quote
Xany Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 (edited) I also agree with nick.... guys, this is a VERY illegal practice....your car may have a new engine in it when you change the odometer back, but what about the suspension and body. They still have the kays on them.....and people can tell. Edited February 23, 2006 by Xany Quote
JiP Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Funny that, I wound my K's back before I got it registered and no one said anything about it. Or it could be that the lady at the Transport Department was too fat to bend over and look into my car. Quote
Tiger Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 That's also the case here in VIC. Busted here means heavy fines and lots of other actions included in the "not fun" package! :locked: Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I took my car through it's rego check last year, and the guy asked me how many K's were on it, I go....267, he goes...ahh so she's a new one hey :locked: I go yep, it just left Toyota hehe Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted March 7, 2006 Author Report Posted March 7, 2006 (edited) HAHAHAHAHAHA That's classic, What happened if i put a new KE30 instrument cluster in and it reads 00000 is that illegal? Because my last one was shagged. Edited March 7, 2006 by Trent-KE30 Quote
