I recently done some work to my 4k.

I got the head shaved down so compression is at 10.1 i think

And had the oringinal cam reground but can't remember specs and got extractors with 2 and 1/2 inch exhaust but with stock carby.

And I'm about to slap a sc14 supercharger on it and is wondering if anyone can tell me if it will just go pop or will it last?

Please need some help?

Iv got a 5k with same compression & exhaust, but 25/65 cam with .474 lift.. And it's stupidly high compression for any type of bolt on..

Surly it depends on the rate of spin you put on the S/C??

 

So the pulley diameters determine the boost, just boost it to 5psi, then 8psi then....

 

Are you gong to fit a blow-off valve to limit the boost?

 

You could fit a pair of head gaskets, or cut a 2mm blank out of steel, the sort of things we did while rallying.

Yea i don't no really ill work it out when i get it just yea wondering how to fix the problem but yea i might try doubling up the gaskets but defently thanks for your help

Just go buy another 4k and sell yours, strap the charger to the new one get the cam reground to suit the charger and have fun
